ONE East Asia organized the first-ever vessel tour for a local institute - the Hong Kong Sea School on 18 April. Over 20 Form 5 students and teachers visited onboard ONE Competence and explored the real experience of container shipping through the vessel tour. During the tour, the students were able to visit ONE Competence and interact with the captain and officer. The captain provided an insightful introduction to vessel operations and shared valuable information about seafaring careers. Thank you to the Hong Kong Sea School for their participation and to the captain and the officers for their warm welcome and informative sessions, we could inspire the students to explore and develop their potential in the maritime industry. ONE EA believes in fostering a deeper understanding of the shipping industry among the young generation. ONE East Asia is delighted to collaborate with The Hong Kong Polytechnic University to organize a company visit on 5 April 2024, to provide The Hong Kong Polytechnic University students with industry insight and career opportunities. The visit encompassed an insightful career talk with an alumni sharing session. ONE EA shared expertise and experiences, allowing students to have a deeper understanding of the industry landscape, current trends, and potential career paths. Followed by an office tour at our East Asia regional headquarter, which allowed the students to explore and experience the dynamic work environment in ONE EA. Hosting such a talented and motivated group was a pleasure, we appreciate the bridging with the Department of Logistics and Maritime Studies, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in fostering meaningful connections between academia and the industry. Last Friday, on March 8th, ONE EA had the privilege of partnering with The Women's Foundation to host an Inspirational Talk - Unleashing the Power of Equity, in celebration of International Women's Day. Our guest speaker, Christina Ho 何紫婷, shared her motivational journey from being a Fashion Designer, and former cabin crew member to an Airline Pilot, colleagues were inspired by Christina’s empowering story, filled with passion, courage, and invaluable life lessons. It was a wonderful event where colleagues gathered to learn about the importance of Diversity and Inclusion (D&I). ONE is committed to fostering a workplace that embraces diversity in gender, racial, and ethnic backgrounds, as well as disability inclusion. Our goal is to create a fair and inclusive environment where every voice is not only included but also valued.
