Maura Winston recently spoke with Leonie Corcoran for IMAGE Magazine’s (IMAGE Media) IMAGE Business Club about her journey to becoming Chief People Officer at one of Ireland's leading PLCs and her commitment—along with Cairn’s—to encouraging more women in the industry. While construction is evolving, real progress requires long-term commitment from businesses across the sector to ensure more women see a future in it. "Construction is historically a male-dominated industry, and while this is changing, it is gradual and requires significant mindset shifts from both men and women. Many companies are taking the right steps, but we need a greater commitment across the industry to grow the female talent pipeline. . . I would love to do more of this work internally and externally to Cairn." At Cairn, we are committed to increasing visibility and opportunity, helping to attract and support the next generation of women in construction. As we launch our second year as title sponsor of Cairn Community Games, we take a moment to recognise the hard work and dedication of last year’s 200m National Finals winner, Milana. Her dedication and achievements serve as a reminder of the incredible impact these games have on communities across Ireland. Milana’s achievement is particularly meaningful to us, as her father, Pavel Sharhayeu, is one of our own. Seeing the positive influence of Cairn Community Games, not just within the wider community but also among our own people, is something we are incredibly proud of. We’re looking forward to supporting this year’s participants and celebrating more inspiring stories along the way!
