𝐓𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬: 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐊𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐂𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠   Coffey is partnering with Severn Trent on a major project to upgrade the Toton Sewage Treatment Works (STW). The project aims to improve water quality in the River Trent by redirecting the final effluent discharge.   A key part of this project involves using specialised equipment like the Keel Cutter. This powerful hydraulic tool efficiently cuts through various pipe materials, including steel, cast iron, and plastic. It's essential for constructing and maintaining water and sewage systems. The Keel Cutter is being used to cut sections of both HDPE and ductile iron pipe for the new rising main.   Last week, our Toton team received expert Keel Cutter training from Steve Vick International Ltd. The focus was on their advanced PE pipe cutter, which offers enhanced safety and efficiency through automated tracking.   We've made excellent progress on the pipe installation, with over 100 metres of ductile iron pipe already in place at Toton. The next step is to install a 900mm HDPE pipe within a 1200mm concrete sleeve under the River Erewash. With our skilled team and advanced equipment, we're committed to delivering a high-quality project that benefits the local community and environment. Please follow our page as we progress with this important project for Severn Trent. In the meantime, you can contact us at 01925 818680 or info@coffeygroup.com for more details on this project and the other works we have underway in the UK.   #Coffey #WaterInfrastructure #CivilEngineering #keelcutter #pipelaying
