Minister Patrick O'Donovan TD today announced a Research Ireland Strategic Partnership Award of €5 million to researchers at RCSI University of Medicine and Health Sciences for breast cancer research. The award will fund the PRISM (Precision Oncology Research Initiative for Metastatic Breast Cancer) programme, which focuses on advanced breast cancer and aims to improve survival rates and quality of life for patients. “Partnership is so often a critical factor in determining the success of research endeavours. The Public Service Apprenticeships Employer Symposium is taking place today, co-organised by the Department of Public Expenditure NDP Delivery & Reform (DPENDR) and Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science (DFHERIS). The symposium is hosted in the offices of the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications. A resource for public service employers when considering apprenticeship for their organsiation, 'Employing Apprentices: A Practical Guide for the Public Service' was published today at the symposium and has been developed by the Department of Public Expenditure NDP Delivery & Reform and Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science. The guide is aimed at Public Service organisations, employers, managers, and HR units who are interested in learning more about navigating the apprenticeship process. Roisin Walsh CIPD from DPENDR and Sally Cao from DFHERIS welcomed attendees to the symposium, and the opening address was given by Colm O'Reardon, Secretary General of DFHERIS.
