Assistant Secretary (Head of Transparency and Head of EU Affairs) at Department of Justice

In Spring each year, we bring together senior leaders from across the justice sector. It’s an opportunity to deepen our connections, increase our understanding of each other’s work, and reflect on our impact. This year’s theme was change and challenge. We reflected on a new Programme for Government, on the lived experiences of some of those we serve, on the need for leadership at all levels, and of course on the new responsibilities we are taking on. And we got to spend the day in Croker! We also got to hear from our new Minister, and the exceptionally erudite Dr Síofra O’Leary. The dream team of Antoinette Doran and Layla de Cogan Chin did a phenomenal job hosting. And of course my own dream team did an amazing job arranging it all. 👏👏👏 Department of Justice #leadership

  • Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming colleagues from across the criminal justice sector and academia to an event that centered on leveraging data for informed decision-making in the criminal justice field.   Forensic Science Ireland FSI, Irish Prison Service and Legal Aid Board shared insights into different approaches and challenges in utilising data to inform decision making. This was complimented by presentations from researchers at Trinity College Dublin, Maynooth University and University of Limerick on a range of topics utilising different data sources.   We would like to express our gratitude to all the presenters and participants who contributed to the success of the event. Your insights and expertise enriched the discussions. Thank you for your valuable contributions to this meaningful dialogue.
