Thank you for putting the spotlight on wearables designed for women… (and not just counterfitted for women post launch when women have proven to be better consumers for health tracking)
💍 ⌚ 🔬 Have you seen the iconographic with various wearables used to track and monitor health parameters? Well, it inspired me to do a summary of #wearables oriented towards #womenshealth. Curiously, it took 12 years from the first launch of Fitbit and 7 years from the first launch of Oura for the companies to add period tracking. However, there are at least 10 other types of wearables for women: 1. Smart bras like Bloomer Tech (cardiovascular tracking) or IcosaMed (breast cancer monitoring) 2. Smart menstrual cup like Emm (measures volume, flow rate, cycle length, and regularity and can be used to diagnose conditions like endometriosis) 3. Smart pad like Qvin for blood sugar and other numerous markers analysis 4. Specialised smart wristbands for women, like Ava Women for fertility tracking or Embr Labs for menopause hot flashes management 5. Other menopause-focused devices like identifyHer focused on guiding women through peri-menopause by tracking and analysing hot flashes and related symptoms 6. Menstrual pain relief devices like Myoovi that use transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation to manage cramps 7. Urinary incontinence wearables like INNOVO that train pelvic muscles to prevent incontinence 8. Pregnancy wearables like fetal and maternal heart-monitoring or sensors for tracking labour contractions 9. Wearable breast pumps like @Willow and Elvie that store breast milk inside the device itsel and are worn inside the bra. 10. Intrauterine devices like Womed with their first clinically-validated fertility-oriented IUD. Read more in the article 👇
