At the launch of our ‘Research for a Better Ireland’ campaign on Friday, the NMR Spectrometer at Maynooth University provided a practical example of the impact of investment in research infrastructure. This vital machine allows Researchers to examine molecules at an atomic level - crucial for medical research, drug development, and food science. With its lifespan nearing an end, a €550,000 investment from the Higher Education Authority’s Research Equipment Grant Call has extended its usability. Call for Applications: "My Thesis in 180 Seconds" (MT180) 2025 📚 🔔 The "My Thesis in 180 Seconds" (MT180) competition is back for its 2025 edition, and we’re inviting all PhD students from Irish institutions to participate! An exciting day at University College Cork, as today marks the public opening of a special exhibition at UCC’s Boole Library, celebrating 100 years of Cork University Press (CUP) - Ireland’s oldest university press.👏 Founded in 1925, CUP has been at the forefront of publishing landmark works in the Humanities, Irish Studies, and Feminist Scholarship, including the award-winning Atlas Series. 📖 Visitors can also explore limited edition commemorative prints by Cork artist Craig Carry, created in collaboration with Cork Printmakers. 👀 Read more below:

This exhibition showcases the Press’s incredible history, from groundbreaking publications and renowned authors to key milestones over the past century.
