Must be something in the water! Or there soon will be. Congratulations to the team at Enterprise Ireland for the delivery of an informative Offshore Wind Forum yesterday in the impressive Presidents Suite at the Aviva Stadium. Tackling key themes on innovation, collaboration and market opportunities across Europe, this was a gathering of industry professionals both in consultancy and technical services, public sector, planning and research / academia. Lots of takeaways from the event including : The importance of using local supply chain in project delivery; The future potential for the allied industries of cabling, O&M services, essential parts and fabrication, Data management and Ai; The network of Port infrastructure needed to support offshore wind in Ireland. The speakers all encouraged the creation of multi-disciplinary teams, innovation & technical clusters and the level of government support available to help bring ideas and services to international markets. Of course it was another great opportunity to make new connections. Well done to the organising team, speakers and attendees on a quality event. #offshorewind #renewablenergy #racetonetzero #innovation #collaboration

Dublin Double! Two very productive careers events in Dublin City University and Trinity College Dublin over the past two days. Michael Kerr represented the RSK Group businesses and Shriya V. MSc, Assoc CIPD promoted the engineering careers within Nicholas O'Dwyer Ltd. Over the two events we met a great selection of environmental science, engineering and scientific undergrads and masters students. The current crop of students are the future designers, consultants and technical experts that will develop our sustainable and critical infrastructure in the years to come so investing time in careers guidance is worth the effort. Our next uni careers event is at QUB in Belfast on Tuesday 15th. #engineers #ecology #graduates #environmental

Data Centre Development! That was the theme of this morning's seminar in the heart of Dublin. Our aim was to pool the technical knowledge of Tony O'Sullivan , Ainsley Heffernan , Paul Cranfield , David O'Hagan and Garry Connolly 🌻 to deliver an insight into the current challenges to and opportunities for the data centre sector in Ireland for the attending engineers, architects, property consultants and data centre managers. Great turnout and we appreciate all the support and participation from the audience. A special thanks to the marketing and events team at Beauchamps LLP led by Sinead O'Donohoe for their preparation and hospitality. We can be sure that this industry will continue to grow but Irish legislators and the government have to decide if they want to become contenders for a larger share of foreign direct investment by facilitating direct wire to renewable energy projects and streamlined planning procedures. We can do it if we really want it! #datacentre #digitaltransformation #environmentalsolutions #renewableenergy #engineering

Solar Power in Dublin 4! Congratulations to the team at Irish Solar Energy Association (ISEA) on a very successful day of networking, technical talks and information exchanges at today's Solar Ireland 2024 conference. In the words of Conall Bolger "The Irish Solar Genie is out of the bottle" and with over 600 attendees and exhibitors in the RDS it was clear to see the energy in the room. It was an opportunity to bring a Great 8 of #rskfamily colleagues together: Paddy Kavanagh and Michael Kerr from our team talked about environmental consultancy services; Andrew Norton , Alistair Webb and Andy Towle from Headland Archaeology (UK) Ltd promoted their geophysical services; James Hillier and Sam Cranston from Copper Consultancy discussing strategic communications and: Evan Concar from Jennings O'Donovan & Partners advising on environment, engineering and planning options. Brilliant to see a network of companies and consultants now available across the island of Ireland and that biodiversity and sustainability are getting prominence in the speakers talks despite the usual challenges within the grid and the planning system. We're looking forward to seeing how the #solarindustry develops over the next year. Nothing beats being there! #solarpv #renewablenergy #sunpower
