⚡ Chair of the Cork Offshore Renewable Industry Forum (CORIF), Catherine Sheridan, has welcomed this week’s positive developments in the offshore renewable energy sector, including the announcement of a new agreement between Ireland and the UK, as well as progress towards the development of a new Centre of Excellence for the sector: “The announcement of a new data sharing agreement between the Irish and UK governments is a welcome step forward in the development of our offshore renewable sector. Further collaboration on administrative and environmental consent processes will accelerate timelines for the development of offshore infrastructure, providing greater certainty from both a climate and economic point of view. “CORIF and Cork Chamber have been working with the British Embassy Dublin for a number of years now to build connections between the offshore renewables sector in Cork and regions across the UK. We look forward to further developing these connections through enhanced data sharing and cooperation to put Cork on the map as a location of choice for offshore renewables investment. “This week also saw the publication of Enterprise Ireland’s new strategy for 2025 to 2029, which includes ambitions to develop a new state-of-the-art National Offshore Wind Centre of Excellence to bring together industry and academic expertise, fostering collaboration and innovation. “Cork is ideally placed to serve as the location for this new Centre of Excellence. With key industry stakeholders and world-class academic and research institutions already based here, Cork can provide the existing infrastructure and talent to support a pipeline of skilled graduates in the green energy sector into the future.” Read more about the new Ireland - UK agreement here 👉 https://lnkd.in/eE8hNKPy Read Enterprise Ireland's new strategy here 👉 https://lnkd.in/g7PSt4gM
