We want to congratulate our teams that will be carrying these projects forward. ‘A Song’ an adaptation of Irish author Colm Tobin’s short story of the same name, will be directed by Ellius Grace and produced by Louise Byrne with a screenplay from Shaun Dunne “Music teacher Noel is reunited briefly with his estranged mother during a local trad session. He must navigate his complicated past alongside his newfound connection with visiting singer James.” <<< ‘Starlets’ is a reimagining of Noah’s Ark from writer-director Aisha Bolaji, and will be produced by Keeva Bolger. “As the world is being consumed by floods, sixteen year old Noelle prepares for her audition on The Ark cruise ship under the wing of her overbearing stage mother.”

We are delighted to announce Motherland’s collaboration as official host and industry partner for The GALPAL Collective and the National Talent Academies ‘Writers Club’ 2024. As a production company and post-house Motherland’s ethos has always been supporting emerging talent within the film and commercial sectors. Motherland hosted the group’s first in-person event at our Hill Street offices, where members of the Writers Club had the chance to meet each other ahead of their first sessions. Writers Club is a space for screenwriters to develop their skills and short film projects while receiving feedback from a diverse range of people and peers. The club aims to cultivate original storytelling that often doesn’t get space to flourish in development spaces. Through this club, 25 talented writers and script editor David Walsh have been chosen to participate and will be led across four groups, each divided by facilitators Emer Hussey, Ian Fallon, Katie Lee Lynch and Motherland's Lucille Carolan Thank you to our Intro Session speakers Eibh Collins (National Talent Academies) , Steven Courtney (Motherland), Aisha Bolaji (The GALPAL Collective / Motherland), Ashley Chadamoyo Makombe (The GALPAL Collective) Photography & Videography : Roxana Pedan The National Talent Academy for Film and TV Drama is an initiative of Screen Ireland managed by Ardán
