#InnovatorSpotlight - Meet Anshuman Tripathi, Ather's firmware prodigy! Have you ever persisted so much that after being turned away multiple times, you finally achieved your goal? This is the story of Anshuman Tripathi and his journey with Ather – a story filled with steadfast determination, personal growth, and groundbreaking ideas. Anshuman had his heart set on being a part of the Ather story since 2015 when we were moving out of Indian Institute of Technology, Madras Research Park. Despite initial rejections, he never lost sight of his True North, transforming each "no" into a stepping stone toward his goal. After four years of trying, his perseverance paid off. Starting as a junior Embedded Engineer, Anshuman quickly showcased his talent in firmware development, which led to him filing five patents and establishing himself as a key innovator on the team. One of his major contributions is to the Ather Motor Controller firmware—the heart of the scooter—that operates thanks to over 10,000 lines of code he meticulously contributed. Now, whenever he sees an Ather scooter zooming on the streets, he swells with pride, knowing well that each one carries a part of his hard work and ingenuity. Anshuman’s story is a powerful reminder that perseverance can lead to extraordinary achievements. At Ather one of our “True North” has been to create a long-term impact in the energy ecosystem through our products. This is why, beyond creating a great electric scooter, we have also invested in solving the problem of a growing need for charging infrastructure. Charging needs to become easy if India has to achieve her EV ambitions. In order to achieve this, the teams at Ather have come up with what we call the “Ather Neighbourhood Charger” - a solution that lets you charge your Electric Vehicle in your neighbourhood, whether that’s a university, a tech park, or an office campus, because we know having access to convenient charging is essential for larger EV adoption. With our range of Neighbourhood chargers catering to both scooters and cars,  we aim to improve India’s EV mix. That’s how our teams work on our “True North”—helping the shift to electric be more seamless and convenient, one charging station at a time. When it comes to protecting the environment, everyone has a role to play. Quite often, it is the little big things that really make a difference. As part of our efforts to observe World Environment Day, some of our team members joined forces with children from nearby schools to create 350 paper bags and distribute them to shops and establishments in the area. This project wasn't just about reducing the use of plastic bags; it was about bringing the community together, teaching and learning from the younger generation about the importance of taking care of our planet. We saw firsthand how eager these kids were to make a change, to be part of something meaningful. By connecting with the local shops, we not only helped reduce plastic usage but also sparked conversations about sustainability. These moments of unity and action show us the true impact of collective efforts. As a lover of K-dramas and a self-professed daydreamer, Samyuktha juggles her passions for history, food, and fantasy novels with her professional life. Joining Ather in April 2021 straight from campus, she brought her fresh perspective and eager spirit to our team. In her free time, Samyuktha explores new hobbies, recently dabbling in Tabla besides her vocal classes. Her journey from a novel-devouring student hiding Nancy Drew's books in the school library to the advice she could hypothetically give her 16-year-old self about other people’s judgments reflects her profound growth and quirky personality. #InnovatorSpotlight -  Meet Yash Gandhi, the trailblazer behind the charge.  As a standout talent with over ten years in the engineering world, Yash is the first in his Commerce-dominated family to take the Engineering mantle and has since been making waves in the electric vehicle industry. With a passion for charging grids and a knack for innovation, he has filed five patents and is changing the EV charging game at Ather. A testament to his forward thinking is the development of a  system designed to safeguard Ather Grid users from potential electric shocks, demonstrating his foresight to prioritise user safety even when regulations have not caught up. It’s this proactive approach that sets us apart. Once the youngest team leader in his first job, Yash has always broken boundaries. From pioneering gesture-controlled presentations in his student years to leading the manipulating presentation slides with hand gestures via OpenCV, Yash has always been driven by a simple ethos - make it safe, make it smart and make a difference.
