It’s not easy putting up an event. Especially if it’s different. ‘Shabd’ is a Kommune property that brings the best of Hindustani poetry, music and stories to people. Step one is great, Curation, which was done by our in-house Pradumn R. Chourey . Next comes creating a great look and feel which was supervised by @aditya jadhav and @mitali rathod, brilliant design by Rhea Iyer. And now starts the social media promotion and marketing. A month of posts, reels, mailers and we had a house full. We had moments of crisis when our ad account on Facebook had issues. But in 2 hours Aakash Rohilla had got it sorted. Our social team with Shachi Pathak @shannon did a stellar job with Esha Paul who leads our content. The excitement kept building up and by last w Myeek we had sold only 300 tickets. Did we panic, yes for about an hour. Then an email campaign, artist posts, more reels and suddenly we were looking good. Last night we were taking bets when we would be sold out! The event by itself was mesmerising and rvery artist was in top form. For them to see every seat in the hall filled was a boost and for us a triumph of team spirit. It takes a village to build an event but it takes a little bit more to build a magical one.

It was heart-warming to see how this conversation was made accessible by using Sign Language. Another great way to ensure accessibility is to use subtitles. Same-Language subtitling not only ensures Accessibility but also provides an opportunity to develop reading skills. Kudos to Netflix and Ashwini Kulkarni for their efforts to not only dub but also subtitle their content ( in almost 36 languages!). There is enough empirical evidence that Subtitles improve reading skills. Ashwini`s comment that Netflix dubs and subtitles content and brings "India for India" deeply resonates.
