    Outsourcing outbound sounds tempting—but in these cases, it’s a no-go. 🚫 I’ve run an outbound agency for 8 years now. 💪 I’m here to tell you, please don’t outsource your outbound in the following instances: ❌ You don’t have PMF and you’re targeting an overseas market. ❌ You have PMF in an overseas market but you target the enterprise segment. ❌ No matter what market you target, you think— I don’t care about process, I want leads. Simply setting clear and realistic goals from the get-go gives you a massive advantage over the 50% of new businesses that wing it. Especially in service industries where people often rely on referrals and networks. But here’s the catch—goal-setting isn’t just about throwing a number on the wall and hoping for the best. So, how do you set goals that actually work? 📍 Get Specific & Measurable Is it 100 customers in 6 months? $50k in revenue in the first year?  Define exactly what success looks like, so you know if you're on track. 🔢 📍 Set Milestone Goals Don’t just have a big, annual goal.  Break it down. What can you achieve in 1 month? 3 months? 6 months? These milestones give you a roadmap and a sense of progress. 🛤️ 📍 Find the Balance Your goals should be challenging enough to push you but realistic enough to feel achievable.  This balance will push you forward and boost your confidence. 🎯💡 📍 Team Alignment is Key Your goals shouldn’t just be your own. Get buy-in from every department—whether it's sales, marketing, product, or operations. It’s not just about working hard; it’s about working together.     If you think you can outsource your pre-sales function to an agency and relax, think again! Yes, I own an agency, which is why you should listen to what I say about this very carefully. Every single successful engagement we had included a Founder or Head of Sales who was very involved in the early days (3-6 months), cared about the process and the learnings, and worked with us to identify new strategies and improve existing ones. If an early stage company told us- “I don’t care what you do, I just want leads!”, we tried our best to educate them, or, not take up that customer, because we knew it was going to get hard. Now, this was in the past, pre-AI. Today, though, most people need to run targeted ABM campaigns to cut through the noise. A scaled cadence or multiple cadences using tools isn’t going to cut it. So, making an agency partnership successful is harder than ever before. It’s nearly impossible to outsource ABM to an agency. So, what’s the answer? Do the work yourself. Get help to set up the tech and infrastructure. Get consultants to come in and help you brainstorm strategies. But the actual work ? Do it yourself. Yes, it’s hard, and the entry barrier just got much, much higher in the start-up space, but if you’re willing to do the work, the results will still amaze you.
