About us

Nua was founded on a dream to transform women’s wellness in India. Our story began with a pad. And not just any pad that could be picked off the shelves but one that was truly thought around a woman’s needs. However, we soon realised that the need for safe & effective products went beyond just pads. So, we asked the women in our community to tell us what they were looking for. We believe that our Sanitary Pads, Cramp Comfort (India’s first unique self-heating patch), Foaming Intimate Wash, 1mm Everyday Liners & Uplift (period nutrition drink mix) are made by us but are created by our community of over 4 Lakh women who wanted to start a new and improved wellness journey. As for our dream, it just got bigger from where we started. As of today, we continue to transform the women’s wellness space in India through safe, innovative, inclusive and effective products that are Made Safe Certified and backed by science.

    Did you know that millions of Indian women navigate a silent health crisis each month? Unable to afford sanitary products, they opt for alternatives like cloth. This practice is common among women in rural areas and those from lower-income brackets. While the correct use of cloth is an acceptable practice to manage menstruation, extended use of unhygienic pieces of cloth can lead to serious health consequences, like vaginal infections, urinary tract infections (UTIs), cervical cancer, and even hepatitis B. But it doesn't stop there. It also takes a toll on their mental well-being - leading to feelings of shame and negativity regarding menstruation. Encouraging the use of safe sanitary products and promoting proper menstrual hygiene practices are crucial steps toward breaking this cycle. We can empower women to prioritise their health and well-being by providing access to menstrual hygiene products. Curious to know how you can create change?     For Nua, International Women's Day 2024 was all about emphasising the importance of accessible menstrual care at the workplace. To bring this mission a step closer to reality, we were joined by the likes of Capgemini, Modenik Lifestyle, Drools Pet Food, Plum, Landor & Fitch, Indo-French Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IFCCI), WebEngage, Restore Design Pvt Ltd, Kae Capital, awenest, LightBox, ftcash, Cero Care Products, Schbang, Zeotap, 39Solutions, Envisage Specialty Dental Clinic, Plan B, Dr. Sandesh Mayekar, Sunjewels Private Limited & Bharat Serums and Vaccines Limited. We’re grateful for all the organisations that helped us bring our mission to life - one kit and wellness session at a time! But the journey doesn’t end here. Here are some steps your organisation can take to make periods at work a comfortable and safe experience: - Create awareness among employees about the importance of menstrual wellness, and how women can look after themselves on their period while they’re at work. - Ensure consistent access to menstrual care products like sanitary pads - for example, through vending machines. - Make sure women have access to clean washrooms and proper disposal solutions for their pads. - Offer support for pain management in the form of pain relief solutions, such as portable heat patches. While Women’s Day gave us a chance to shed light on menstrual wellness in the workplace, it’s only a small starting point for the larger changes and conversations that are needed. Hoping more and more companies will move forward with a dedication to making periods easier for the women in their team.
