𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 #𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐭 #𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐬𝐚𝐯𝐚: 𝐀 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐔𝐬 : Last weekend, I had the incredible opportunity to attend #Mannotsava with my colleagues Umaina Hafeez, Rajesh M Gowda, and Ann. This one-of-a-kind public mental health festival, organized by NIMHANS, Bangalore, National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS), and Rohini Nilekani Philanthropies, was designed to destigmatize mental health through open conversations. It offered interactive workshops, panel discussions, film screenings, and much more. The festival explored mental health through diverse lenses like #ageing, #gender, #parenthood, and caregiving—shedding light on experiences often overlooked in mainstream mental health narratives. The engaging dialogue between #RohiniNilekani and #RahulDravid was a standout moment; Dravid’s casual, humorous stance on “not feeling the need to be on Instagram” was refreshing! The event underscored how brain plasticity allows us to build cognitive reserves by staying socially connected, engaged, and active—whether through creative hobbies, physical activities, or simply staying mentally stimulated. It also highlighted how women’s mental health is impacted by the intersection of biological, social, and corporate pressures, and how essential it is to support our caregivers. It was a powerful reminder that we’re all caregivers in some form—be it for elderly parents, loved ones through tough times, or children with special needs. Self-care is essential to caring for others. #Mannotsava was a testament to how mental health should be everyone’s priority. Experts and advocates from fields like #healthcare, #journalism, #art, and more came together to foster a safe, inclusive space for these critical conversations. Gratitude to NIMHANS, Bangalore, National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS), and Rohini Nilekani Philanthropies for hosting this impactful event. Meeting legends like #RahulDravid (the real #IndiraNagarKaGunda!) made it even more memorable. Here’s to building an inclusive world where mental health conversations are a part of everyday life! #MentalHealthMatters
