COOPI - Cooperazione Internazionale

COOPI's story is one of millions of people: operators, volunteers, beneficiaries. But first of all, it was the story of Vincenzo Barbieri, the Jesuit father who brought the experience of international civil volunteering to Italy. The encounter with international lay movements took place already in 1961 when he was sent by his superiors to study in Lyon at the Faculty of Theology, in view of a future departure for Chad as a missionary. Struck by this reality, Barbieri decided to postpone his departure and try to bring this experience to Italy. In a few months hundreds of young people responded to his invitation and on April 15, 1965, together with 18 volunteers, he officially founded Cooperazione Internazionale. From here began a 60-year journey during which #COOPI and the Italian international cooperation movement would grow and transform. Celebrating International Women’s Day in #Jordan. Under the B-LIEVE project, COOPI, together with Education For Employment-Jordan and European Commission - ECHO, is running an online awareness campaign on workplace discrimination against women. The campaign sheds light on the key challenges women face and how to address them legally. Funded by the European Union , the B-LIEVE project promotes economic empowerment and social inclusion for vulnerable groups in Jordan by improving access to training services and job opportunities, including self-employment. In doing so, it directly combats discrimination, particularly for women and people with disabilities. جانب من البرنامج التدريبي (بذور) "النمو والتطور الشامل للمشاريع متناهية الصغر" في الكرك، والذي يهدف إلى تعريف المشاركين والمشاركات بأنواع الخشب المستخدمة في الحفر وتطبيقاته في الفن والتصميم، بالإضافة إلى تعلم استخدام الأدوات والمعدات الأساسية. كما يركز التدريب على تطوير مهارات اختيار التصاميم ونقلها يدويًا على الخشب، مما يعزز القدرات الحرفية ويدعم المشاريع الإبداعية للمشاركين. هذا المشروع ممول من الوكالة الإيطالية للتعاون الإنمائي، والمُنفذ من قبل مؤسسة التعليم لأجل التوظيف الأردنية، بالتعاون مع منظمة كوبي، مؤسسة جون بول الثاني، والجمعية الأردنية لمصدري ومنتجي الخضار والفواكه. ------- Part of the training program "Bothoor" (Seeds), "Inclusive Growth and Development of Micro-Enterprises" in Karak, which aims to introduce participants to the types of wood used in carving and its applications in art and design, in addition to learning how to use essential tools and equipment. The training also focuses on developing skills in selecting designs and transferring them manually onto wood, enhancing participants' handcraft skills and empowering them to develop their creative projects. This program is funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) and implemented by EFE-Jordan, COOPI, FGPII, and JEPA.

بالتعاون مع COOPI - Cooperazione Internazionale وبدعم من صندوق السودان الإنساني (SHF)، نجحت منظمة السلام المتحدة (UPO) في تنفيذ مطبخ مجتمعي لمدة شهر في محلية مليط، مستهدفًا الفئات الأكثر ضعفًا، وخاصة الأطفال الذين يعانون من سوء التغذية والنساء الحوامل والمرضعات، مع التركيز على مراكز الإيواء. أسهم هذا التدخل في تقليل معدلات سوء التغذية بين الأطفال بشكل ملحوظ، مع تحسين أوزانهم وصحتهم العامة. كما عزز قدرة الأمهات على توفير التغذية السليمة لأطفالهن حديثي الولادة، مما ساعد على بناء أساس أقوى للنمو والتعافي. مع استمرار انعدام الأمن الغذائي في التأثير على المجتمعات الضعيفة، تظل مثل هذه المبادرات ضرورية لإنقاذ الأرواح وتحسين سبل العيش. نحن في UPO ملتزمون بمواصلة دعم المجتمعات المحتاجة، لأن لكل شخص الحق في الغذاء والتغذية الكافية. ___ In collaboration with COOPI - Cooperazione Internazionale as the consortium leader and with funding from Sudan Humanitarian Fund (SHF), The United Peace Organization successfully implemented a one-month communal kitchen in Malit locality. This initiative focused on providing lifesaving nutrition to the most vulnerable groups, particularly malnourished children and pregnant and lactating women, with special attention to shelter centers. Through this intervention, we witnessed a significant reduction in malnutrition cases among children, alongside noticeable improvements in their weight and overall health. Additionally, the program played a crucial role in strengthening the nutrition of mothers and newborns, ensuring they receive the essential sustenance needed for growth and recovery. Food insecurity remains a pressing challenge, and initiatives like these are critical in safeguarding the well-being of vulnerable populations.
