The Chinese New Year is upon us. We recently held a truly memorable end-of-year celebration with our Silvateam China colleagues in Guangzhou. This annual tradition brings together our staff from across the country, creating an opportunity to reflect on the successes, challenges and milestones of the past year. 2024 was an especially meaningful occasion as we bid farewell to the year marking Silvateam China’s 20th Anniversary! To honour this remarkable achievement, we organised an all-day party featuring plenty of fun and engaging activities, including a lively tug-of-war competition that had everyone cheering. 🎉 What made the gathering even more special was having our team’s families join the celebration, making it a day filled with joy, laughter and meaningful connections. Thousands of attendees graced #Mondovì for the 35th edition of the Epiphany Hot Air Balloon Gathering, a globally renowned event held from January 4th to 6th. 🎈 Despite challenging weather conditions, the Silvateam balloon took to the skies, and those on board were rewarded with an unforgettable journey. 🌥️ Once above the clouds, they witnessed breathtaking views of the hills surrounding Mondovì and the snow-capped Alps stretching into the horizon. ❄️ As the sun set, the event transformed into something truly magical with an evening display of tethered balloon flights. 🌄International Mountain Day 2024 reminds us of the crucial role mountains play in our planet’s ecosystems and the communities living in these harsh environments. 🌱 👩🌾 For over two decades, Silvateam has been committed to fostering economic and social development in remote and challenging valleys of the Peruvian Andes. Through investments in supply chain, we support the harvest of wild tara pods by creating stable jobs and incomes for local farmers in some of the most underdeveloped areas of Peru. 🌳Besides promoting wild tara harvesting, in 2002 we established our own plantations in Huánuco at 2,500 metres above sea level, using organic practices that help preserving local biodiversity.
