“The importance of timely nutritional assessment in oncology is often underestimated by both patients and clinicians, with only one in three cancer patients in Europe receiving nutritional support during treatments”. #malnutrizione #oncologia #nutrizione #valutazionenutrizionale #screeningnutrizionale

🎉Excited to share our latest review: “New perspectives of selection tests for the treatment with PARPinhibitors of ovarian cancer patients” published in Annals of Research in Oncology! #OvarianCancer #PARPi #HRD #functionaltest
🔬 𝗦𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗲𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗣 𝗜𝗻𝗵𝗶𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗢𝘃𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿 PARP inhibitors have transformed the treatment of ovarian cancer, especially for patients with BRCA1/2 mutations. However, not all patients respond the same way, highlighting the need for better selection tests. Thanks to advances in molecular diagnostics, new tools are emerging to predict treatment response more accurately. One key factor? 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 (HRD), a dynamic process influenced by chemotherapy and resistance mechanisms. Traditional genetic tests may fall short in capturing these complexities. "PERSPECTIVES AND INNOVATION IN PEDIATRIC PSYCHO-ONCOLOGY: RESEARCH, ADVANCED THERAPIES, TECHNOLOGIES, AND NEW FRONTIERS" - just published with Annals of Research in Oncology 💡This perspective describes recent innovation, with these new insights being crucial for improving the overall #qualityoflife and long-term outcomes for patients and their families and for driving future research in pediatric psycho-oncology. In particular, it emphasizes the implementation of #neuropsychological screening tools to monitor and prevent cognitive decline in patients affected by central nervous system malignancies or those receiving neurotoxic treatments. Although #research is making great strides in the field of psycho-oncology, there are still too few shared clinical and scientific standards, especially on certain issues. In our opinion, the psychiatric management should be standardized. 💛We sincerely thank the children and parents we meet in daily clinical practice in #pediatriconcology. https://lnkd.in/dNCDcuSt #innovation #psychooncology #clinicalresearch Angela Mastronuzzi Dorella Scarponi Franca Fagioli Valentina Massaroni daniela chieffo Elisa Marconi SABRINA CIAPPINA Giulia Zucchetti

📣 𝗩𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀: 𝗮 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 Oncology has made huge strides, not just in prolonging patients' lives, but in significantly enhancing their 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 through better diagnostics, less invasive surgeries, and advanced therapies. However, 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻-related complications, often overlooked, remain a major risk. Recent findings highlight a concerning gap: only a fraction of oncologists feel confident in advising their patients on preventable infections, especially regarding timely 𝘃𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀.
