I was honoured to attend this week's event at the Embassy of Japan in London, celebrating 30 years of the Japan-UK Science and Technology Cooperation Agreement. It was inspiring to hear from His Excellency Mr. Hajime Hayashi, Japanese Ambassador to the UK, Professor Sir Patrick Vallance (Department for Science, Innovation and Technology), and Professor Yoichiro Matsumoto, Science and Technology Advisor to Japan's Minister for Foreign Affairs, on the remarkable achievements of this partnership. It was said that the collaboration between our nations has shaped global scientific progress over the past three decades—and that the ambition is to continue this for the next 30 years. Kyoto Fusioneering is proud to present at the event, showcasing our work bridging Japanese and British innovation in fusion energy. Our mission is to push the boundaries of science and technology toward commercialisation, driving forward a more sustainable future for society. It was a privilege to speak with Professor Dame Angela McLean, the UK Government’s Chief Scientific Adviser (Government Office for Science), about the company's mission and our expanding activities in the UK. The photo below features one of our team, Fusion Engineer Jack Taylor, engaging with Professor Dame McLean, highlighting the strong UK-Japan collaboration embodied by Kyoto Fusioneering.
