On Friday, our teams from inSupply Health and JSI Kenya and Tanzania came together for a meaningful Volunteer Day, showcasing our commitment to making a difference in the communities we serve. In Kenya, our team had a rewarding day at Victor’s Children’s Home, where we gave a hand with cleaning, cooking, and washing and engaged the children in fun activities that lit up their faces. In Tanzania, our team dedicated their time to community upliftment at Gereza la Mahabusu Seregesa, focusing on impactful service. inSupply Health and JSI believe in enabling communities to lead full, healthy and happy lives. 🌍 Innovating for Adolescent Health 🌍 Working towards a bright future in Adolescent Sexual & Reproductive Health: Partnerships Share Fair 🤝 In response to evolving global health challenges, the WHO/IBP Network hosted a Partnership Share Fair to explore local innovations in family planning, reproductive health (FP/RH), and adolescent health. This interactive session brought together partners, researchers, and community health experts to discuss cutting-edge strategies tailored to adolescent needs. We showcased five impactful and innovative interventions from our partners, each tailored and designed to the evolving needs of adolescent populations locally and globally. These cross-cutting initiatives addressed key areas, including access to youth-friendly services, adolescent SRH and mental health, social and behavioral change, knowledge generation and dissemination for adolescent SRHR, community partnerships, and effective engagement of adolescents both in and out of school. The highlighted interventions also demonstrated impactful, youth-friendly approaches that are accessible, culturally relevant, and responsive to the changing landscape of adolescent health needs. 💡 Some Key Takeaways: 1. Collaborative partnerships are essential for advancing adolescent health. 2. Increased research and knowledge are crucial for developing effective interventions. 3. I'm in Nairobi, joining other public health practitioners at the CORE Group #GHPC24 conference! The conference starts on October 28th, 2024. I'm presenting a poster on the use of human-centered design (HCD) in community health programming, and together with my team at HCDExchange, we will facilitate an interactive concurrent session on human-centered strategies for tackling the climate and health intersection.
