The transport sector continues to face a significant gender gap, with women representing just 12% of the global transport workforce. This lack of diversity limits innovation, service delivery, and economic growth.   Increasing women's participation and leadership can unlock substantial environmental, social, and economic gains, while addressing critical labor shortages.   The launch of the Women in Transport (WiT) Network marks a major step forward for gender equality in the transport sector.   Together with the The World Bank Group, Asian Development Bank (ADB), Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, and ITF - International Transport Forum, we developed a report that highlights barriers women face, from limited recruitment opportunities to challenges in career advancement and leadership roles.   To overcome these, the report outlines actionable recommendations across areas:   🔵 Attraction and recruitment 🔵 HR policies and retention 🔵 Career advancement and leadership 🔵 Legal frameworks and data collection   The WiT Network, initially focused on the Middle East & North Africa and Europe & Central Asia regions, will foster collaboration, networking, training, and mentorship opportunities—empowering women and organizations alike to thrive 👉 https://lnkd.in/dNaTDP7f
