🌍 📸 Crédits photos : / ✨ Last week’s Blood Moon resulted from a lunar eclipse: the Earth moved between the Sun and the Moon, casting a reddish shadow on it. Unlike a solar eclipse 🌑, which happens when the Moon blocks the Sun's earthbound light (and is only visible from limited areas on Earth ), a lunar eclipse can be seen from anywhere the Moon is up. 📸 Here are some of my favorite pics collected online—make sure to check out the photographers’ amazing work on their pages! Why return to the Moon? Many people ask this question… This time, the mission takes us to the lunar South Pole, an unexplored region with extreme conditions. But beyond the technical feat, the stakes are high: science, exploration, and inspiration. Sophie Adenot, a French ESA astronaut, is due to embark on a mission to the ISS in the first half of 2026. Passionate about technological challenges and innovation, she also wants to inspire younger generations to believe in their dreams. At the recent 𝘙𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘴 𝘦𝘯 𝘢𝘱𝘌𝘚𝘈𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘶𝘳 conference, organised by European Space Agency - ESA , she highlighted the crucial role of lunar exploration in advancing research, improving human health and paving the way for new discoveries. As a child, she thought space was out of reach. But thanks to her grandfather and inspiring female role models she met at public events, she dared to dream bigger. Today, she passes on this message: "Believe in your dreams!" Follow her incredible journey in 𝘋𝘪𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘢𝘯 𝘌𝘚𝘈 𝘈𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘶𝘵 and her preparations on social media. Good luck, Sophie! We can't wait to follow your journey! 🚀 📷 © NASA | ESA - A. Conigli

A bonus of working at a lunar rover company is sometimes you get to take the rover for a spin! While driving our FLEX mockups in a dirt lot might not be as exciting as on the lunar surface, these test drives help us refine our technology and better refine the driving experience.

  • In the field of science and space exploration, traditionally dominated by men, some women have stood out and continue to inspire future generations. Among them, Katherine Johnson, Laura André-Boyet, and Célia Pelluet have made remarkable contributions. 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗻 (1918-2020) was an American mathematician whose precise calculations were essential for NASA’s space missions, including John Glenn’s flight in 1962 and the Apollo 11 mission in 1969. Her work helped validate the trajectories of crewed spaceflights, contributing to the success of the first lunar missions. In 2015, at the age of 97, she was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Barack Obama honoured her legacy by stating, “She broke the barrier of race and gender.” She encouraged young people to never give up on their dreams, to believe in themselves, and to stand firm. Today, Katherine Johnson remains an inspiration for generations. Laura André-Boyet is currently the only female astronaut instructor in Europe. Since 2010, she has been training international astronauts at the European Astronaut Centre (EAC) of the European Space Agency (ESA). Her role is to prepare astronauts for critical situations they might encounter during their missions, ensuring their safety as well as the success of space missions. Laura is not only shaping the next generation of astronauts, but also paving the way for more women to take their place in the space industry. Célia Pelluet is an engineer in optical physics at the French Space Agency (CNES) and holds a PhD in atomic physics. Specialising in ultra-cold atom interferometry in microgravity, she represents a new generation of scientists determined to push the boundaries of knowledge while advocating for gender equality in science. A physicist by day and a stand-up comedian by night, Célia blends intellect and humour to show that we can shine in different fields. #InternationalWomensDay #space #innovation #science #FutureTech

And with that, another Ariane delivers its payload to orbit! 🤩 I love this European success story, enabling independent access to space for so many years now. Ariane doesn’t get enough love from Europeans… but that might be changing. Congrats to arianegroup and everyone involved in French Guiana or all around Europe!
