The overarching goal of the GBCNA is to promote the sustainable transformation of the built environment in Namibia.

About us

The Green Building Council of Namibia is an independent, non-profit trust that was formed in 2013 to lead the greening of Namibia’s built environment. We provide the tools, training, knowledge, connections and networks to promote green building practices and build a national movement that will change the way Namibia is built. We are one of over 75 members of the World Green Building Council alongside Australia, the United States and the United Kingdom. The Green Star rating systems were developed in Australia, and GBCNA made adaptations to the Green Star SA rating system to be applicable in Namibia. GBCNA is the official certification body for Green Star projects in Namibia.
