Women of the World ’s tireless efforts since 2009 to make female leaders visible during the World Economic Forum made it to Forbes this year. Article in comments! Sandy Carter Unstoppable Domains a fellow Women of the Future 2024 nominee, who was an inspiring speaker at the inaugural Women in Web3 Switzerland (WiW3CH) Global Summit from the inspiring Salama B. authored an article in Forbes Digital Assets highlighting the significant strides in gender representation and the power of #women supporting each other in fields like #climate, #technology and #healthcare during the World Economic Forum in Davos. She righty noted the notable increase in female participation at #WEF2024 with women making up 28% of the forum’s 3,000 attendees, a historic high in its 54-year history. Since it was our 15th year amplifying various women’s leadership efforts and successes both in and outside the #WEF forum it was an absolute joy to see such an increase of female global leadership around town! I always say women have a unique talent to transform the world from within! And this year’s #WEF2024 was an absolute proof of that! Ready to spread your wings 🪽 Did you know that Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 has no time to create a glass ceiling and needs women to reach their #Vision2030 targets! In 2023 I visited Riyadh for the first time and I realized that the fast speed of reforms in Saudi Arabia are the ultimate reason why there is no time in Saudi Arabia to create a glass ceiling! The winds of modernity and believes in the importance of investing in Saudi women’s capabilities are allowing women in Saudi Arabia to strengthen their future and to contribute to the development of their society and economy! As Saudi Arabia embarks on unfolding its #Vision2030 – focusing on women empowerment initiatives and policies – women in the Saudi Arabian Kingdom are seizing opportunities to issue business licenses to run and own shops, start tech firms and start-ups all leading to a surge in female entrepreneurs. Saudi Arabia has the largest university for women and the highest amount of women educated in STEM! Saudi Arabian women collectively even have access to $50 billion dollars which they are looking to invest or which they aim to use for their startups! With all this information in the back of my mind Women of the World is excited to announce their 7th Future of Technology study trip to Riyadh and Jeddah 4-9 May 2024 to meet with Saudi Arabia icons such as Mae Al Mozaini CEO of nusf - The Arab Institute for Women's Empowerment and Zahia Boumaiz! Women of the World bridges cultures & changes the narrative and the perception about the role of women in Saudi Arabia and inspires women to explore doing business in the Middle East! Saudi women in the tech sector are rising exponentially, surpassing women in Europe and Silicon Valley. While creating more tech jobs is essential to absorb these talents, Saudi women are creating their own tech startups. As women control approximately $32 trillion annually of consumer spending as they continue to enter the job market, their representation is essential and critical at the leadership level or lose to competitors. Having just returned from Davos where I attended the World Economic Forum it was clear that courageous leadership is what is expected from future leaders to navigate through the global challenges! Women are part of the solution because of their innate intuition and courage which is a form of wisdom that helps you see more clearly - so that you can act with confidence and steadfastness. It is that time of the year again that Women of the World makes her way down to Davos to attend the World Economic Forum 2024 for this years theme - Rebuilding Trust! We have been attending since 2009 and now more than ever we need women to show up at this conference and take a seat at the table! 28% female representation this year! The 54th WEF Annual Meeting provides a crucial space to focus on the fundamental principles driving trust, transparency, consistency and accountability and will welcome over 100 governments, major international organizations, 1000 Forum’s Partners, civil society leaders, experts, youth representatives, social entrepreneurs, and media! Women of the World is excited to bring along 200 global trailblazers this year united under the umbrella of the #hurryupclub which came together during COP28 UAE in Dubai! With this movement we aim to raise consciousness and create interconnectedness between various disciplines when it comes to climate change and investments and the important role of women in the climate space. As I look back on an intense year which was suddenly interrupted by an unexpected car accident in Costa Rica which left me pretty shaken up I do feel that moment allowed me to become even more grateful for life and for all its goods and opportunities and I feel reason to celebrate in peace and joy surrounded by friends and my dearest family! I wish to take a moment to mark a feeling of unstoppable transformation with profoundness and meaningful reflection. ✨ 2023 witnessed wars, intense pain and a lot of challenges for too many people worldwide. 2023 also showed a decline of freedom for women’s rights a topic very close to my heart! Because of the intensity of my accident I feel that I am more than ever before tuned in to daily acts of peace and positive change, both big and small, by many. My special thoughts go to people all over the world who do well in SILENCE and who show incredible strength, solidarity, compassion, and resilience amid challenging situations. “Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.” As I prepare for the renewal of 2024, I want to be consciously grateful and remember the precious people who supported me in the good and hard moments. 🙌 both in my personal and professional life! I think of the committed group of curious global trailblazers and innovators with whom I attended TED Conferences in Vancouver, my venture partnership and mentorship for Antler, my Women of the World female leadership study trip to Silicon Valley and my 2022 Female Angels presence at Leap my commitment with the #hurryupclub SHE Changes Climate yet also my 50 #goldenglobalgirls my #Camina’s, my #Ubunties my 200+ global #hurryupclub tribe of changemakers and may be even more importantly the local Santa Teresa community in Costa Rica who was absolute golden and who made me see again that a small community of committed loving people is the biggest healing force of life when recovering from an accident! Thank you to all for being part of my rehab journey this year. Towards the end of COP28 UAE the #hurryupclub tribe of 200 committed professionals collectively meditated and literally prayed for a positive outcome of the climate conference! And we succeeded! So for 2024 I am inspiring all of you to connect with your inner “vision for positive change,” with your profound sense of purpose, and project a powerful vision for the future, drawing from your unique strengths! ✨ In the end it all comes down to LOVE and COMPASSION! The clock ticks on the climate crisis, and there is a parallel urgency to address the leadership crisis in climate action. Exploring innovative approaches and addressing the diversity gap are crucial steps forward, central to the #SHEChangesClimate campaign since COP26! In yesterday’s multi-stakeholder dialogue at #COP28 in the beautiful Women’s Pavilion co-hosted by Women of the World SHE Changes Climate Kite Insights The Rallying Cry and The Dandelion Project diverse voices converged, bringing expertise and perspectives from all geographies and demographics. Personal stories and experiences from around the world were shared, highlighting the global impact of climate change on marginalised communities, which echoed the urgent need for a diverse and inclusive climate leadership. We were especially honoured to have the Chair of The Elders Foundation former PM of Ireland Mary Robinson in the space with us and opening our lively discussion!
