Sjøforsvaret, sammen med Kongsberg Discovery, Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace og Forsvarets forskningsinstitutt - FFI, er til stede på øvelsen REPMUS 2024 i Portugal som “Team Norway”. “Team Norway” består av omtrent 20 personer, i tillegg til blant annet en Hugin Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) og FFIs ubemannede overflatefartøy Frigg (teknologidemonstrator). REPMUS er en forkortelse for Robotic Experimentation and Prototyping with Maritime Unmanned Systems. Det er en internasjonal flerdimensjonal øvelse som fokuserer på å teste kapasitetene og interoperabiliteten til neste generasjons maritime ubemannede systemer i sjøkrigføring. REPMUS er en viktig arena for å vise frem den nyeste teknologien og kapasitetene. I Portugal deltar mer enn 26 marinepersonell, over 130 forsknings- og utviklingsselskaper, ulike universiteter, samt EU- og NATO-enheter tilknyttet maritime operasjoner og/eller maritime ubemannede systemer i øvelsen.

Paralympian Fredrik Solberg is a remarkable para-swimmer who has been making waves in the sport for several years. Research on Olympic rowing boats with KONGSBERG-technology. Last year, Norwegian Olympian Kjetil Borch participated in an exciting collaboration between the Norwegian Olympic Committee and KONGSBERG, one of Summit2024's supporters. Our business area Kongsberg Maritime's hydrodynamics department usually studies how larger ships can glide as efficiently as possible in the water. The team in Ulsteinvik used their expertise in an unusual way, together with the rowing team and the Norwegian Olympic Committee. The research project aimed to make rowing boats go 0.2 per cent faster. Does not sound like much, but the margins are tiny for a top-level rower. REACH REMOTE 1, a remote-controlled vessel designed and equipped by our business area Kongsberg Maritime, named ‘Ship of the Year 2024’. Reach Subsea’s ground-breaking uncrewed surface vessel, REACH REMOTE 1, has today received the Skipsrevyen Ship of the Year 2024 award at the SMM exhibition in Hamburg. The 24-metre REACH REMOTE 1 is the first of a pair of uncrewed offshore surface vessels designed and delivered by our business area Kongsberg Maritime to Norwegian company REACH SUBSEA ASA. Crammed with state-of-the-art KONGSBERG technology, the vessels will initially carry out underwater survey duties off the coast of Haugesund in southern Norway, and with global interest in this disruptive approach to traditional duties, many more are set to follow.
