📣 A clear message from the industry: – We need to bridge the knowledge gap! But how...? 📣 Together with key industry players from the West Coast of Norway, we invited Norges teknisk-naturvitenskapelige universitet (NTNU) to the Silicon Valley of Green Shipping – Stord! 😎 The Trondheim delegation got a glimpse of the spearhead company's commitment to innovation, collaboration and developing new, clean solutions for a greener tomorrow 🎯 However, we need more people with the right competence to start utilizing these new solutions, fuels, and technologies 🧑🎓 We look forward to investigating new ways to collaborate and secure this competence 🔍 🤝 Thank you for visiting us, Heidi Fossland, Asgeir Tomasgard, Bjorn Egil Asbjornslett, Elisa Junqueira de Andrade, and Astrid Sørensen! 👋 NTNU Energy | NTNU Energy Transition Initiative (NETI) Trond Haga | Aker Solutions | Johannes Eldøy | Salt Ship Design AS | Erling Lodden | Eidesvik Offshore ASA | Håvard Tvedte | Maritime CleanTech | Hans-Petter Nesse | Wärtsilä i Norge | Ove H. 25 percent of Norway´s total greenhouse gas emissions come from the oil and gas industry. We´re developing a new solution that can cut emissions from offshore installations by 25 percent! 🎯 Techouse AS´s brand-new compact OTSG will be tested and validated through Sustainable Energy Norwegian Catapult Centre at Stord and market-ready by 2026. What is a compact OTSG, you say? 🤔 Powering and heating offshore installations require a lot of energy. Combined Cycle Power Plants (CCPP) generate the energy needed aboard the installations. ⚡️ But today, the exhaust from the power plants goes to waste. Techouse has teamed up with energy majors and SINTEF Energi AS to develop and test a compact once-through steam generator (OTSG) that will utilize the exhaust. 🌱 Reusing the heat from the exhaust to generate new energy will significantly increase the power output and decrease the fuel needed to power the power plants. 🔄 OTSGs exist today. The challenge is that they´re too heavy and too large to fit on installations where available deck space and weight capacity are critical. Techouse´s ground-breaking solution will be up to 50 percent lighter and have a 15 percent reduction in footprint compared to conventional solutions. The novel approach to achieve low weight OTSGs is a result of SINTEF Energy’s evaluation of utilizing dimensioning tools for OTSG sizing in a radical way and the result is now to be demonstrated and tested. 🚀 Reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by 25 percent is equivalent to cutting emissions between 50,000 and 150,000 tons annually per combined cycle power plant installation. 🤝 “We´re proud Techouse chose us to facilitate and coordinate their exciting test. Developing this solution can be a game-changer for reducing emissions on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. By partnering up on this test, we also ensure unique testing facilities will be available for others who wish to test different kinds of energy efficiency in the future”, says CEO of Sustainable Energy, Willie Wagen. Together with Alltec, Sustainable Energy will build a brand-new test site for the compact OTSG at Eldøyane industry park at Stord. The test will start in Q3 2025, and the compact OTSG will be available as a commercial product in 2026. Harsh sea conditions, with winds, waves and swells, give floating offshore wind farm operators a narrow time window to perform certain operations. We´re about to change that! 🎯 Together with UNITECH Energy Group, we´re developing a remotely operated cable hang-off system that will: 🗓️ Significantly extend the time window for these operations 💰 Dramatically reduce the costs and allow smaller vessels and smaller crew to do the operation ⛑️ Enhance safety – no personnel needs to board the wind turbines at sea Just before Christmas, we built a wind turbine demo test site and successfully tested the system onshore. This year, we´re taking the test offshore to ensure the system performs under real-life and harsh sea conditions 🌊 💨 The project has received funding from The Norwegian Research Council´s Green Platform program. 🤝 Norges forskningsråd | Siva SF | #NorskKatapult | #floatingoffshorewind | #floatingwind | #wind | Zephyros Ocean | A/S Stordbase | NorSea | Bernt Hellesoe | Rune Strandenes | Vidar Onarheim Anders Haugland | Willie Wagen | Linn Therese Erve | Tore Kallevåg | Skjalg Myklebust | Marianne Bjelland | Marius Knutsen | John Bjordal | Matthias Kock | Bernt Vinsnesbakk | Oddgeir Randa Heggland | Kcenia Hartmann Volkov | Henrik Andersen Lægreid | Egil Hystad | Sveinung Hansen | Johnny Larsen |

FanTESTic news for floating offshore wind technology! 🌊💨 Sustainable Energy has signed a letter of intent with #GoliatVIND to explore the possibility of using five 15 MW floating wind turbines as a testing ground for new and sustainable technology. ✍️ 🤝 This initiative is great for the planned environmental monitoring program for GoliatVIND to test new technology and gather valuable data on the impact of wind turbines on marine wildlife and the environment. 🐋 Source Galileo Norge, Odfjell Oceanwind, Kansai Electric Power Co., Ltd and ENEOS Renewable Energy Corporation are collaborating to develop the groundbreaking GoliatVIND project. 🎯 The aim is to demonstrate floating offshore wind technology and deliver renewable power to the Finnmark region through Goliat FPSO's existing infrastructure. Goliat is the world's largest cylindrical floating production storage and offloading unit. 🤩 «Making GoliatVIND a test arena for new and sustainable technology qualification will increase the Norwegian market share in the global floating offshore wind market. This can reduce both the levelized cost of electricity and the CO2 footprint of the whole industry», says the Chair of GoliatVIND, Gunnar Birkeland. 🌍 «We've already seen the interest from companies wanting to try their solutions on Zephyros. Making five new floating wind turbines available will ensure that more new technology is tested and validated in real-life conditions. This will make GoliatVIND not only a sustainable energy wind farm but also a Barents Sea tech farm, says CEO of Sustainable Energy Norwegian Catapult Centre, Willie Wagen. 👷♂️ The GoliatVIND project is in the process of applying for a concession and may be in operation within 2028. 🚀

🤩 Linn Therese Erve | Marius Knutsen | Wärtsilä i Norge | Amogy | Alltec | HYDS - Hydrogen Solutions | Höegh Evi | Wärtsilä Gas Solutions | The Switch | Future Energy Solutions AS | Maritime CleanTech | #EnergyHouse
