The Ringa Toi Student Exhibition is one of those truly inspiring and uplifting events. An exhibition that opened yesterday at Te Papa, presented by NZQA, showcases a diverse range of artistic disciplines celebrating both Pacific and Māori art, created by talented high school students from across the country. It is an incredible exhibition that fosters student engagement and success in the cultural sector, with young creatives leading the way, the future looks bright. An unexpected honour of being chair of the New Zealand Qualifications Authority | Mana Tohu Mātauranga o Aotearoa is that today I got to open the Ringa Toi Student Exhibition at Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa It’s wonderful. It celebrates Toi Maori and Pacific artwork by students working towards their NCEA. Make sure you visit if you can, it’s open (and free) daily from 10.00am to 6.00pm until Friday 27 September. There are over 150 taonga on display. Congratulations to the winners of the Highly Commended and Commended awards, most of whom feature in the first photo.
