The Watts & Hughes Construction team at Elementum Long Bay welcomed New Zealand's Prime Minster Christopher Luxon to site on Monday.    It was a great opportunity to showcase the hard work the WH team and Subcontractors have put into the project over the last two years onsite and the years leading up to it for the development team and design consultants.   Elementum Project consists of the 112 apartments, 15 townhouses and 2 retail spaces across 9 separate buildings.

We are thrilled to announce Ignite's successful completion of the new teaching block for Drury School. Watts & Hughes Construction Celebrates Riverhead Primary Site's Mates in Construction Accreditation! We are proud to announce that our Riverhead School site has achieved accreditation through MATES in Construction NZ, a significant milestone in ensuring mental health awareness and support within our industry. This achievement coincides with Fly the Flag Week, recognizing International Suicide Prevention Week, further highlighting our commitment to the well-being of our workers and the communities we serve. This accreditation is in conjunction with the Ministry of Education New Zealand, demonstrating our shared dedication to creating safer, mentally healthy environments in every project we undertake. Well done to the Riverhead team kane blank and Malik Farrow (W&H) and Ridwaan Khan (MOE) for their hard work and commitment to making a positive impact! A special thanks goes to Junior Ioane (MOE), Damian Tuiloma & Jared Lanigan (Mates) for helping make this possible as well as all our sub-contractors on this project.

On 10 September, the Watts & Hughes Construction site at Rolleston College proudly received MATES in Construction NZ accreditation, a significant milestone in promoting mental health and suicide prevention within the construction industry. The event brought together Mates representatives, workers, and the entire W&H site staff, alongside Raewyn Hooper (Executive Officer), Cameron Winsloe (Associate Principal) and Rachel Skelton (Tumuaki/Principal) from Rolleston College. This achievement took on even greater meaning as it coincided with International Suicide Prevention Day, highlighting the importance of mental health awareness in the workplace and our ongoing commitment to creating a safer, more supportive environment for all. This major development features a double gym and classroom complex, providing state-of-the-art sports and learning facilities. Our recent site visit was a moment of pride and joy for our admin team. Seeing the incredible work of our site team up close was truly inspiring. We feel privileged and honored to witness the transformation and celebrate our collective achievements. The new gym will serve as a hub for physical activity, supporting both the Physical Education curriculum and extra-curricular sports programs with two side-by-side courts or one competition court, a fitness center, a cafeteria, and three new classrooms. A huge congratulations to our site team for their dedication and hard work in bringing this project to life. 🎉 Celebrating Completion at Elizabeth Knox Hospital and Home 🎉 Our admin team recently had an insightful visit to the completed project at Elizabeth Knox Hospital and Home, led by Paul Murphy and Craig Agnew. They had the opportunity to see the new facilities up close and learn about the complexities of the construction process. The building, a two-story structure, boasts 62 care rooms, communal areas, nurse stations, and emergency exits. A new ramp connecting the new wing to the existing building enhances accessibility and connectivity. Despite facing challenges like demolition, complex structures, consent issues, and the impact of the Auckland floods, the team successfully met practical completion on time. At Watts & Hughes, we value team collaboration, success, and understanding the challenges of our employees' jobs. That's why we believe in giving our admin teams the chance to engage with our site teams and learn about our construction builds firsthand.
