We're thrilled to announce the delivery of the first batch of our novel Manual Ball Valves to Thales Alenia Space for satellites based on the cutting-edge Space Inspire platform, developed with the support of Agência Espacial Portuguesa and European Space Agency - ESA ARTES program. This delivery marks a historic achievement - Omnidea's commencement of the first recurrent production of propulsion space hardware in Portugal. Designed for the Ammonia Cooling Fluid Loop, our valve, originally developed as a propulsion component, underwent rigorous acceptance testing, including functional assessments, leak tests, vibration, and thermal cycling, to ensure its readiness for space. With this milestone, Omnidea now boasts full production capabilities in Portugal, delivering Flight Model products to the global space market. AED Cluster Portugal at the ESA Industry Space Days 2024! 🔭🚀 The ESA Industry Space Days, taking place from 18 to 19 September 2024, is being held in Noordwijk, the Netherlands, and features the active participation of the AED Cluster! 🎯 This event promotes cooperation between different players in the space sector, opening doors to new opportunities and partnerships. The Managing Director of AED Cluster Portugal, Rui Santos participated in the event, as did several Portuguese entities, including Active Space Technologies, PIEP - Innovation in Polymer Engineering, TEKEVER, Omnidea, Ricardo & Barbosa, Critical Software, FHP - Frezite High Performance, Lda, aicep Portugal Global and VisionSpace. Participating in the ESA Industry Space Days was an excellent opportunity to meet future partners and identify tomorrow's trends and opportunities in the space sector. It was with sadness that AED and the entire aerospace industry received the news of the tragic death of an Omnidea employee on the 4th of July. On behalf of the entire industry that AED represents, we extend our condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues for such a drastic and irreversible event. The aerospace industry is known for its highest safety standards. Omnidea has been in existence for over 20 years and has an enviable history of innovation, with multiple projects with the European Space Agency and major international players in the sector without any incident or occurrence. It is therefore extremely important for everyone that the decision has been made to conduct an independent investigation to determine all the causes.
