  • 👩🏾🌍💪🏾Empowering young #women is essential for building a healthier future. Many girls face challenges related to sexual reproductive health (#SRH), from stigma and misinformation to a lack of access to essential resources. 🗣️ To overcome these obstacles, we need to prioritize education and open conversations about sexual health. By equipping young women with accurate #information about condom use and reproductive health, we can foster #confidence and self-efficacy. 🚀 It is crucial to create safe-spaces where girls can share their experiences, ask questions, and challenge the #myths that often hinder their ability to make informed choices. When we empower girls with the knowledge and tools they need, we not only help them take charge of their #health but also inspire them to become advocates for change in their communities. 🤝 Let’s work together to support our #youth, ensuring they have the resources to achieve their dreams and reduce the risks of #HIV, STIs, and unintended pregnancies. A strong, informed generation of girls will lead us toward a brighter, healthier future for all.

🌟 The 3rd edition of the #AHTS2024 Summit united Africa’s leading minds in health, technology, and policy to champion the theme ‘Innovating for Community #Health: Unleashing the Power of AI.’ This year’s summit emphasized the essential role of public-private partnerships (#PPPs) in transforming healthcare across African communities, making it more accessible, resilient, and adaptive to evolving health needs. 💡 In an insightful panel discussion on scaling HealthTech through these partnerships, SFH Executive Director, Manasseh Gihana WANDERA, shared SFH’s remarkable journey of building 300 #healthposts in just 7yrs. He emphasized that the mission to ensure every #Rwandan is no more than 30 minutes walk to access essential healthcare, is rooted in collaboration. His story further highlighted the depth of SFH’s partnerships with the Rwanda Ministry of Health, Sand Technologies, and eFiche, which together developed the “Blue Room,” an AI-driven data hub that leverages real-time health data to inform policy and action, effectively closing critical healthcare gaps in rural areas. 🏥 Expanding on Rwanda's digital health landscape, Dr. Evode Niyibizi, MD, Technical Advisor for Health Financing & Digital Health at Rwanda's MOH, shared an ambitious plan to #digitize health records and processes, enhance emergency response, and launch a citizen app for health records access, ultimately advancing Rwanda’s Vision 2050 for Universal Health Coverage (#UHC). 📊 Among the panelists, Hinda Ruton, CEO of Africa Quantitative Sciences, enriched the discussion by highlighting the transformative power of converting complex data into actionable insights. His insights emphasized how this process can significantly enhance the effectiveness of #data-driven policy decisions, ensuring that innovations make a measurable impact on public health outcomes. 👨🏾⚕️CEO of eFiche, Dr. David Kamugundu shared insights on developing their web-based EMR application, designed to digitize the patient journey from home to healthcare facilities and back. He illustrated the impact of #partnerships in scaling these life-saving interventions, underscoring how digital health #technology can streamline critical care, enabling faster response times and better patient outcomes. 🚁 Pierre Kayitana General Manager at Zipline Rwanda described how, through a groundbreaking partnership with SFH Rwanda, Zipline drones are now delivering 2,000 vaccines to remote #healthposts— bringing vital health supplies within reach of communities previously cut off from rapid care. Zipline’s model exemplifies how #PPPs can harness #technological innovation to address healthcare accessibility in tangible, impactful ways. 🌍 As we look to the future, it’s clear that these discussions and partnerships will continue to drive impactful, innovative health solutions across Africa, moving us toward a healthier, more resilient continent.

  • 💫 At the 2nd Annual convening of the #AfricaHealthCollaborative, SFH Executive Director, Manasseh Gihana WANDERA, illustrated the pivotal role of regional #partnerships in tackling Africa’s shared health challenges. Speaking in the “Building Resilient Health Systems” session, he highlighted the Great Lakes Malaria Initiative (#GLMI) as a transformative model: through cross-border partnerships, GLMI unites civil society, private sectors, and governments to fight malaria in the East African Community. 🌍 GLMI’s synchronized approach tackles #malaria in high-risk areas, exemplifying how cross-border health strategies can inspire #policy reform and foster institutional strength across the continent. He also emphasized that this collaboration model is replicable—offering an adaptable framework that can elevate health system #resilience and #innovation across Africa. 🤝 In a forward-thinking conversation with Ghana's Health Minister, Dr. Dr. Bernard Okoe-Boye, Manasseh emphasized how #technology and digitization could amplify health outcomes across Africa, further underscoring SFH Rwanda's commitment to extending these collaborative principles to underserved #communities across #Africa. With each partnership, we’re one step closer to a more resilient, healthier Africa.

  • 🎀 As #BreastCancerAwareness month comes to an end, it’s important to remember that #breastcancer doesn’t just affect individuals—it impacts entire families and #communities. 🎯 Our commitment to saving lives goes beyond just #awareness. Through our collaboration with the Elekta Foundation, we are strengthening Rwanda’s cancer care infrastructure, making it possible for women to receive screening, early detection, and treatment, even in the most remote areas. 🧑🏾🔬 Our approach focuses on #empowering women with knowledge and ensuring that cancer screening becomes a routine, accessible part of #healthcare for all. In #Rwanda, we support initiatives to combat both breast and cervical cancers, reaching thousands of women through primary healthcare centers and outreaches. 🤝 Join us this October in advocating for early #detection, increased access to care, and a future where breast cancer is no longer a death sentence. 🎀 Together, we can defeat breast cancer.

🌟 Such a powerful story. It’s stories like Jeanine's that remind us why we do this work—why #accessible healthcare is not just a goal, but a necessity. The resilience of rural communities is truly inspiring, and it’s our responsibility to meet them halfway by providing the infrastructure and support they need to thrive. 🤰🏾🧒🏾 Seeing the tangible impact of the #healthpost on #maternal and #childhealth gives me so much hope for the future. This is more than just a facility—it’s a symbol of progress, of #equity, and of Society for Family Health Rwanda's commitment to making sure that no one is left behind. 🤝 Together, we are not just improving healthcare—we are transforming lives. I am truly proud to be part of this mission! 🙏🏽💙

Hi, 🎥  🙎🏾♀️This is the story of Jeanine, a #mother living in the rural heart of Bugesera district. Like many in her community, Jeanine spent years carrying the burden of worry. Every time she or her children fell sick, she had to make the long, often impossible #journey to reach healthcare services. The distance, the uncertainty—it was overwhelming. When she became #pregnant, the fear grew stronger. How would she reach help in time? Would it be safe? 🏥 Everything changed the day Musovu #healthpost was built in her village. For Jeanine, it was a moment of #hope and relief. She safely gave birth just minutes from home, surrounded by care she never thought would be within reach. Her community, too, is thriving—#families who once struggled now have access to timely, life-saving #healthcare. 🗣️ This health post isn’t just a building; it’s a lifeline. It represents resilience—the strength of a #community that has persevered despite the challenges of distance and inaccessibility. Now, rural families like Jeanine’s no longer have to worry. By bringing healthcare directly to the people who need it most, we’re helping reduce the daily struggles these communities face, ensuring they have the care they need to survive and thrive. 👶🏾 Through this work, we’re not only transforming lives but contributing to the broader mission of Universal Health Coverage (#UHC). We’re playing a crucial role in helping Rwanda achieve its #sdg’s and reinforcing the country’s decentralized healthcare system. 🤝 Together with our partners, we’re building stronger, healthier futures for all. 🌍💙

🌟The past few days at the World Health Summit 2024 in Berlin, have been both insightful and enriching. Under the theme "Building Trust for a Healthier World," I had the privilege of engaging with global healthcare leaders from policy makers, scientists, the private sector, and civil society to inspire #innovative solutions for better health and well-being for all. It was an invaluable experience to share lessons learned from our work in delivering primary healthcare (#PHC) at the #grassroots level in Rwanda. I was also deeply honored to meet 🇷🇼 Rwanda’s Ambassador to Germany, Igor Cesar, who attended our session on the critical role of frontline #healthcare workers in the community. These discussions have further strengthened my commitment to advancing health solutions that are #community-driven and collaborative. Together, we can work towards a healthier and more equitable future for everyone.
