  • We are strengthening our domestic network in Sweden with new direct routes between Stockholm-Arlanda and Halmstad City Airport, as well as between Stockholm-Arlanda and KALMAR ÖLAND AIRPORT . These new routes make it easier than ever to travel seamlessly from north to south, while also improving access to SAS’ global network via Arlanda. In addition, these routes provide new opportunities for regional development, business growth, and tourism. We remain committed to enhancing accessibility and sustainable growth within Sweden. With these new routes and increased frequencies on existing Swedish domestic routes, we’re reinforcing our promise to connect Sweden with the world. Welcome onboard!

  • We’re elevating the in-flight connectivity with next-gen Wi-Fi powered by SpaceX Starlink! Starlink’s advanced satellite technology delivers internet worldwide, offering seamless connectivity - even in remote areas like over the North Pole, Atlantic Ocean, and North Sea - areas previously affected by disruptions from conventional satellite services. This new feature will provide passengers in all travel classes with high-speed, low-latency internet - and EuroBonus members will even enjoy it for free. The rollout begins in late 2025 across our entire fleet.

This marks the launch of our fifth direct route to the region, with a sixth set to begin on 2 February - a direct connection from London Heathrow. In addition to Aarhus, we also offer direct flights from Stockholm and Ängelholm in Sweden, as well as Copenhagen and Aalborg in Denmark. With these connections to Scandinavian Mountains Airport AB, we’re making it easier than ever for travelers to enjoy the world-class skiing and stunning winter landscapes of Sälen and Trysil. Whether you’re planning an active getaway or a relaxing escape, this is your gateway to adventure.

  • We are partnering with Air Europa to enhance connectivity between Scandinavia and the Iberian Peninsula! SAS passengers will enjoy expanded travel options as we place our code on Air Europa flights connecting Madrid with popular destinations in Spain and Portugal. Starting this summer, SAS customers will also gain access to additional routes in Air Europa’s network, including North Africa, the Caribbean, and South America. Air Europa travelers will benefit from increased access to Scandinavia, including our new direct flights between Madrid and Copenhagen, launching on 11 April 2025, along with several other key Scandinavian destinations. This partnership underscores the strength of SkyTeam, enabling both airlines to expand their global reach and provide customers with enhanced connectivity while maintaining the highest standards of service and quality.

  • Earlier this year, we celebrated 40 years of the SAS Christmas Flight - a heartwarming tradition that has touched thousands of lives since 1985. This year, with 80 passengers on board, the flight delivered vital aid to 31 organizations in Estonia and medical supplies to Ukrainian hospitals. Partnering with the Peeteli orphanage, SAS has provided a safe haven for children in need, demonstrating how teamwork and compassion can drive lasting change. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this journey possible. Let’s continue spreading hope, one flight at a time.

  • Ever wondered what’s happening when an aircraft gets sprayed with liquid before takeoff in winter? That’s de-icing - an essential step to keep flights safe and smooth. By removing ice, snow, or frost from the aircraft’s surfaces, de-icing ensures proper airflow and safe operation. If you’ve flown from Scandinavia during winter, you’ve probably seen it in action from the passenger seat. Catch a glimpse of the de-icing process from the driver’s seat in the video below.

We’re a winner of The Aviation Challenge 2024 - the most impactful global competition in the airline industry, helping to drive meaningful change in sustainability.    This week, SkyTeam member airlines came together to celebrate The Aviation Challenge. More than a celebration, this was an incredible opportunity for airlines to share their knowledge, learn from each other, and work together to help identify solutions to help make aviation more sustainable. This was our first year participating in The Aviation Challenge and we’re thrilled to walk away the winner for two awards - Best Scaled Cargo Solution and Best Scaled FlightOps Solution. We were also given special recognition for having the lowest CO2 emissions flight, and the best aftermovie, highlighting our commitment to storytelling and engagement. Building on this momentum, we’re also pleased to announce that SAS - Scandinavian Airlines will be the host of The Aviation Challenge 2025 - welcoming Skyteam member airlines to our global hub in Copenhagen for the next closing event.  Scandinavia is not only a spectacular part of the world but also a global leader in environmental initiatives. With sustainability in our DNA, SAS has always been at the forefront of this important work. We look forward to welcoming The Aviation Challenge to Scandinavia, and a heartfelt thank you to SkyTeam and everyone at SAS who helped bring home these awards this year. #FlySAS #WeAreScandinavia #SkyTeam #TheAviationChallenge #Sustainability

  • Did you know, that on this day, 65 years ago, Stockholm Arlanda Airport first opened for commercial traffic? Arlanda was built to replace Stockholm Bromma Airport, which had become too small to meet the growing demand for modern air travel. With longer runways and room for expansion, it was designed to accommodate larger aircraft and connect Stockholm to the world. SAS launched its transatlantic services from Arlanda on 26 June 1960, with a flight to New York - a significant milestone in our history. Today, all our operations from Stockholm are centralized at Arlanda.
