Four years ago, I co-founded vloxq CPQ with Andreas Granstedt. Then, just a year and a half into the journey, I discovered (quite late) that I was pregnant. For anyone who's started a company, become a parent, or going through pregnancy, you know that combining these experiences is not easy 😵💫. But don't panic. You will find a way to make it work. I promise ❤️. The most important part is having good support: co-founders who stand by you and a partner who's there, every step of the way. I'll be honest. My first year with my baby was tough. My son, Edward, didn't sleep at all, adding a new layer of challenge. But we got through it, and so can you. As Edward has grown, I've realized how much I value the flexibility of running my own company. I can block off my calendar to pick him up from kindergarten, and my colleagues will understand. After spending the day with our son, I can tell my husband, "I'm working now," and he will understand. I appreciate having the freedom to work when it suits me. Work-life balance is possible, but you need to be kind ❤️ to yourself. Set boundaries, block your calendar, and maintain your integrity, both with your co-founders and your family. And yes, what they say is true: parenthood makes you more efficient. I used to think I was efficient before, but parenthood took it to another level 😅. So, to all the parents and entrepreneurs, you've got this. Be kind to yourself, and remember: balance is achievable, even in the chaos 🥰.
