But just like Hurricane Milton’s Category 5 strength, #DidYouKnow, poverty can also be categorized into levels. . Children and people in rural and war-torn areas across more than 112 countries are living in poverty. Around 40% of the global poor, or 455 million people, are still trapped in crises, conflicts, and violence.🏚 . ⚖️Poverty is not simply a lack of income. Amid crises, it encompasses many challenges across different dimensions of life. That’s why the ASEAN Blue Innovation Challenge was launched in April 2024. . UNDP with support from ASEAN, and Japan, showcases how innovation can protect our oceans and enhance livelihoods. Driving Gender Equality through an Inclusive Parliament! . 🔎#DidYouKnow? 🌏In the ASEAN region, including 🇹🇭 Thailand, women make up less than 26% of political leaders in parliament—falling below the global average.📉 This is due to various barriers—structural, legal, policy, and social—that prevent women from fully participating in politics. But change is possible! . Creating a gender-sensitive parliament means breaking down these barriers and ensuring policies reflect the needs of everyone. 📉 The Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) defines a gender-sensitive parliament as one that embraces diversity and dismantles cultural and structural obstacles to equal participation.🏛️ .
