Veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty recently addressed speculation about him playing Osho Rajneesh in a film. During a media interaction on the sets of The Delhi Files, he was asked about his resemblance to the spiritual leader and the possibility of portraying him in a biopic.
Responding to the question, Mithun said, "You have said such a big thing. What should I tell you now? The chief editor of this film, I had taken some photos during The Kashmir Files. I was sitting in a particular mood, with the sky and everything around, and he remarked that I looked like Bhagwan Rajneesh. I have also been offered to play Osho Rajneesh. But nothing is confirmed yet because it will take around five to six years for the film to be made. It is a perfect choice, and Vivek (Agnihotri) wants me to play the role. Another person also approached me regarding this project. I may take it up, but when you say yes, you have to consider everything as it is a very big responsibility. Osho is still a living God for his followers. It is not that easy, but people say I resemble him. He was a great man, and I have the utmost respect for him."
When asked if he ever felt like making a romantic film for himself, Mithun responded, "Absolutely not. I am a very practical person. With time, I have changed. I adapt myself according to my age. Even at this stage, I am not a conventional film hero. I have done films like Projapoti in Bengali cinema. So, I consider myself a film master."

Mithun Chakraborty is set to play a pivotal role in Vivek Agnihotri's highly anticipated drama, The Delhi File: The Bengal Chapter. Speaking about his bond with the filmmaker, the veteran actor had earlier said, "I have done two films with Vivek Agnihotri so far—The Tashkent Files and The Kashmir Files. We share the same mental vibe. He understands me, and I understand him very clearly. Whenever he needs to explain a shot, he comes to me and says, 'This is the scene,' and then, 'Now you understand.' He is so confident that I will grasp the essence and deliver. That kind of relationship I share with him. I think he is one of the finest directors in India today. He brings up subjects that you just can't say no to."

Additionally, Mithun will be seen sharing screen space with his son, Namashi Chakraborty, for the first time in The Delhi File: The Bengal Chapter. Speaking about the experience of working together, he shared, "While I did give a dancing shot in his film Bad Boy, this is the first time we are working together in a full-fledged movie. However, we do not share even a single shot in the film."
