The UK Government is aiming to deliver the biggest boost in social and affordable housebuilding in a generation, presenting a hugely difficult task for Local and Combined Authorities. Can we create environments where everyone can thrive? We've come a long way, but there’s still much to do to build a truly inclusive sector. While I usually contribute a social impact lens to white papers like this, Rumpus | B Corp Certified invited me to bring a different perspective this time, and as a fellow #BCorp, we were happy to help. In this paper, I share a little about Akerlof’s journey as an SME committed to advancing equity. Balancing a long list of priorities is never easy, but we know we could—and should—do more to address EDI (Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion). Our contribution highlights some of the lessons we've learned along the way. Because whether you’re a large or small organisation, we all have a part to play in shaping a more inclusive industry.
