As part of Wandle Housing Association’s New Homes Growth Strategy, Altair undertook a pilot review of 238 sites across two London boroughs to identify development opportunities. We shortlisted 45 sites with potential for up to 900 new homes, including 16 sites with immediate potential for 400 homes and 29 sites for a further 500 homes. Following the pilot’s success, Altair expanded the review across Wandle’s South London portfolio, identifying 66 additional opportunities for 1,330 homes, supporting Wandle’s commitment to delivering more affordable homes and forming vibrant communities. Yesterday completed day 2 of the CAHF | Centre for Affordable Housing Finance in Africa & African Union for Housing Finance (AUHF) Conference! 📣 Day 1 of the CAHF | Centre for Affordable Housing Finance in Africa & African Union for Housing Finance (AUHF) Conference, launched by the Prime Minister of Ivory Coast, in Abidjan. Olu Olanrewaju, Director of Altair International and Christian AGOSSA, Président of Plexus Africa Finance, have been engaging in insightful discussions on affordable housing across Africa. They had this to say from the first day of the conference: "The first day of the conference has been incredibly interesting, with discussions focused on the rapid pace of urbanisation and the growing housing backlog. It’s clear that addressing the affordable housing crisis is a priority for senior ministers including Ivory Coast’s Prime Minister. The Gambian Minister's take on rent-to-own as a key solution was particularly insightful. We look forward to seeing what day two brings."
