It’s been a sensational summer here in Atlanta as we partnered with 10,000 Black Interns and welcomed five summer interns 🎓 for a six-week long placement throughout July and August.   Our fabulous five Serena Onamade, Adra S., Iyimide Adegunloye, Dennis Mensah and Sanaya Mannings entered our world of insurance with a bang bringing fresh perspectives and fascinating insight. They’ve all made a huge impact in their time with us working across Technology, People, and Operations, as well as joining forces on a Group wide DEI&B project 🤝. From reviewing our Cyber Security 🛡️ best practices to creating colleague communications and campaigns, their support has been invaluable.    A big thank you to our Talent Manager, Sarah Macdonald, for overseeing the internship programme, as well as to our People Intern, Zara Baggaley, who has fully supported them along the way, sharing experiences and best practices from her recent 12 month placement with Atlanta.    It’s been such an enriching experience for all concerned and we look forward to exploring the programme further. Thank you all for bringing your energy, enthusiasm, professionalism, and positivity to our workplace and really making a difference across Atlanta. The Ardonagh Group today announces completion of the merger of our retail lines business, Atlanta Group, with Markerstudy Group, marking the creation of a major new player in the UK insurance market. A party related to Ardonagh will retain a substantial minority equity stake in the combined business. Group Chief Executive David Ross said: "We're proud to have supported Ian and his team to reach this milestone. Autonet joined us as a digital van insurance specialist with £130 million in premium, 550 people and exceptional leadership. It became Atlanta and now joins Markerstudy, adding £1 billion of premium across several product lines, more than 2,000 colleagues and the same exceptional leadership. We're delighted to remain part of the journey as a shareholder and to support Markerstudy's growth in this new chapter." Today we wish farewell and all the best to our Atlanta colleagues in this exciting new journey. We also pay thanks for their instrumental role in building the unique culture of Ardonagh and growing the impact of our charitable arm, ACT. Giving back to the local community has been at the core of Atlanta’s ethos from the very beginning. Hole in one for charity! ⛳️   We're thrilled to announce the success of our Atlanta charity golf day at JCB Golf & Country Club, hosted by Ardonagh Retail CEO, Ian Donaldson.   Together with colleagues and friends, we raised a fantastic £30,000 which will be split evenly between two incredible Stoke-on-Trent charities, Alsager Community Support and Ruff and Ruby. A huge thank you to all 48 participants from the 12 teams who swung into action for these worthy causes!    Here's a shout out to all the teams that participated: Atlanta Teams 1, 2 & 3, Ageas UK, Winn Group, Enterprise Mobility , Somerset Bridge Group, Markerstudy Group, One Call Commercial, Premium Credit Ltd, Ortus Underwriting and Smart Electrical Installations Ltd. This week, our amazing Learning & Development colleagues Helen Worthy, Sarah Macdonald, Jasmine Caine and Fiona L. hosted our incredible 2024 Graduation Event, supported by Director of Talent, Natalie Blago. Over 100 colleagues from across Atlanta gathered at our Manchester site to celebrate completing their Atlanta Leadership Programmes and Apprenticeships!   Atlanta Chief Financial Officer, Rebecca Shepherd, shared a powerful message about her own learning journey. Chief Risk Officer, Sara Smith, and Head of Learning & Development, Phil Green, then presented certificates to each graduate.   At Atlanta, we're passionate about empowering growth. Atlanta Group's very own Dave Bell, Daren Homewood, David Burgin and Andrew Fletcher had an incredible time at The Joshua Tree charity golf day yesterday! 🏌️♂️   They finished strong, tying for 2nd place out of 19 teams with an impressive 97 points.
