In June, our fearless Team Wendy colleagues took part in the VisionCorps Eye Drop Rappelling Event, bravely descending a 120-ft. building! This marks our fifth year supporting the event and our second year participating. VisionCorps, a @National Industries for the Blind agency, empowers individuals who are blind or visually impaired through employment in various fields. This morning we announced our half year results for 2024 which confirmed we have delivered a strong first half and our transformation is gaining momentum. Jos Sclater, our Chief Executive Officer, said: “We are making excellent progress towards our medium-term goals and are increasingly excited by the growing momentum in our transformation programme. Earlier this month, our fifth Professional Development Programme (PDP (5)) officially started with a launch event in the UK for participants across our Avon Protection and Team Wendy businesses. Throughout this week-long event, our programme participants came together to build strong connections, understand how they can deliver excellence, absorb feedback from their managers and peers to shape their learning plans, and were paired with a mentor. We are pleased to announce that Avon Protection has been awarded the continued supply of the General Service Respirator and associated in service support contract by the UK Ministry of Defence. Avon Protection has been supplying the MoD with GSR masks since 2018 and this new contract award will enable them to continue to help protect the lives of people serving in the UK Armed Forces, sustaining the UK’s domestic CBRN protection production capability.
