Today is Anti-Slavery Day and as part of this it’s important to address the issue of Modern Slavery, which is prevalent in many industries, including the construction industry. To help raise awareness and educate us all on the key warning signs to look out for, a Morgan Sindall Group plc led consortium, including Berkeley Group Plc, Laing O'Rourke, Skanska, Kier Group, Galliford Try, VGC Group, Danny Sullivan Group, Randstad, Hays and CarmichaelUK - Civil Engineering & Construction Recruitment, have partnered with anti-slavery charity, Unseen UK, to create a powerful short film which you can watch below. Remember if something doesn’t feel right, report it via Unseen’s Modern Slavery and Exploitation Helpline, 08000 121 700, or their website, File a report (modernslaveryhelpline.org).

Collaboration and working in partnership with the wider team to create the best design solutions is at the very heart of what we do. This is why we wanted to sponsor the new Collaborative Partnership Award category at this year's Highways UK Excellence Awards. This award recognises the importance of effective relationships and collaboration across the highways sector. It celebrates contractors and local / national authorities who have successfully delivered projects together, working alongside each other to overcome hurdles and deliver tangible benefits. Congratulations to Oxfordshire County Council and Milestone Infrastructure who took home this award, presented by our Director for Transportation Samer Ali, for their Oxfordshire local SME Development Programme. A very deserving winner 👏 #design #engineering #projectdelivery #collaboration #teamwork #partnership #awards #sponsors #highways #transport

The Elizabeth Line, including Whitechapel Station which we delivered from RIBA Stage 3 to completion, has been awarded the prestigious RIBA Stirling Prize for 2024 🏆 The Stirling Prize recognises the best new architecture in the UK, showcasing the most ingenious and diverse design in the country. The judges praised how the design of the Elizabeth Line enhances the experience of those travelling on it, with chair, RIBA president Muyiwa Oki, saying: "This is architecture of the digital age – a vast scheme that utilises cutting-edge technology to create distinctive spatial characteristics and experiences. It rewrites the rules of accessible public transport, and sets a bold new standard for civic infrastructure, opening up the network – and by extension, London – to everyone." A very proud moment to see this historic project get the recognition it deserves. Congratulations to everyone involved across this vast scheme. 🔗Read more about the Elizabeth Line's Stirling Prize win: https://lnkd.in/e6TXrEsm 🔗Read more about Whitechapel Station: https://lnkd.in/eGBnQ6fS 📸 HUNDVEN-CLEMENTS PHOTOGRAPHY #design #engineering #projectdelivery #RIBAStirlingPrize #ElizabethLine #Rail #architecture #awards
