Bishopsgate Goodsyard has been shortlisted in both the Heritage and Mixed-Use categories for the coveted annual Planning Awards, honouring those who pioneer in the planning and placemaking sectors. We're grateful to the judging panel for recognising the forward-thinking vision of this East London site. In partnership with Hammerson, we’re transforming this historic brownfield site in Shoreditch into a seven-acre mixed-use neighbourhood, blending world-class architecture, urban greenery, and cultural vibrancy. Working closely with heritage specialists Gensler and Chris Dyson Architects, with input from FaulknerBrowns, Eric Parry Architects, and Buckley Gray Yeoman, we're ensuring the site's industrial past as a railway goods depot built in the 19th century gets reimagined into a modern urban space encouraging creativity that the area is known for today.   - 500+ new homes, designed to reflect the character and energy of Shoreditch - 1.4 million sq ft of commercial space, setting the stage for a new creative quarter - A restored Braithwaite Viaduct, reimagined as a dynamic public realm - A new elevated park, seamlessly integrating nature and city Thank you to our Ballymore people and partners for delivering Bishopsgate Goodsyard as a place where heritage shapes the future with intention. We’re always finding new ways to support natural environments in and around our Ballymore neighbourhoods, and one recent initiative at Sea Gardens in Bray stands out. Here, we became the first Irish property developer to partner with the 100 Million Trees Project, planting a native Irish tree mini-forest. Led by our Deputy Managing Director in Ireland, Linda Mulryan, Ballymore colleagues joined local schoolchildren to plant the trees—marking the start of our commitment to creating even more urban mini-forests across our developments. Last night, Ballymore took home top prize at the Business Post's National-Property Awards, winning the competitive Developer of the Year category. The passion, dedication, and vision of our Ballymore people shaped communities we've built for over four decades, and this industry recognition is a testament to their best-in-class approach across the board.  Patrick Phelan, Managing Director in Ireland, and Deputy Managing Director Linda Mulryan accepted the award on the night; with Pat saying: “Ballymore’s story began in Ireland over 40 years ago, when Sean and Bernardine Mulryan founded the company in Kildare in 1982. Since then, we have grown into a leading force in the industry, creating vibrant, resilient places where innovation and community come together." Earlier this month, we had the pleasure of hosting the next generation of property innovators and industry changemakers! 25 Year 10 pupils from Kensington Aldridge Academy joined us at our Head Office for Unloc’s Young Innovator's Challenge. The day was packed with hands-on learning—our team's young professionals shared insights about their careers, we explored the property development industry and community engagement methods, plus a guided tour of our nearby Wardian London development. The event culminated in a fun challenge where students focussed on Ballymore's upcoming development in Ladbroke Grove, Project Flourish, and working creatively in groups to consider ways to amplify the voices of local young people.
