We're excited to announce the official opening of our new £38m Construction & Engineering Centre in Luton. Thursday 6 February 2025 was the date of the official unveiling, and we marked the occasion by celebrating with stakeholders from across Luton and Bedfordshire. This state-of-the-art, four-storey building is designed to empower our students with cutting-edge training spaces, high-spec workshops, modern classrooms, and collaborative breakout areas - all while championing sustainable design and innovative construction practices. By consolidating our Enterprise Way campus into the new building, we've created one dynamic site that can deliver the training that local people need. Not only will the campus enhance the learning environment, but it also supports the Luton 2040 vision of a sustainable, innovative, and thriving community. A huge thank you to everyone who celebrated with us, and all those who have played an important part in delivering this new hub for skills. We were delighted to welcome High Sheriff of Bedfordshire, Bav Shah MRICS, to Barnfield College yesterday. It was a glorious day for a tour of our brand-new Construction and Engineering Centre. The High Sheriff followed the tour by meeting with two of our student governors to talk about his role in Bedfordshire.

A huge thank you to BAM UK & Ireland for providing valuable insights into the construction industry and the exciting opportunities they offer! It was a pleasure to have Euan Jackson share BAM’s vision and upcoming projects with us. Our students were particularly intrigued to learn about BAM UK & Ireland involvement in rebuilding the Luton Airport Car Park. They were thrilled with the opportunities BAM UK & Ireland is offering, including work experience, apprenticeships, and on-site visits. These experiences will give our students a firsthand look at the logistics and planning involved in such a significant project. A behind the scenes tour at Wembley Stadium ⚽ Our Food Academy students recently took a behind the scenes tour at Wembley Stadium. Students were shown all kitchens and restaurants in the stadium, from the Royal Box Suite to the concourse kitchens. They were taken through the logistics of how each kitchen works and received advice from the professional chefs. Harry Lomas MBE BEM FIH gave valuable careers advice to our students, including offering a range of jobs available at Wembley Stadium. A huge thank you to Harry Lomas MBE BEM FIH, Gerrard Madden MCGB and all chefs at Delaware North UK for this amazing opportunity!

The £38m Construction and Engineering Centre is state-of-the-art with high spec workshops, classrooms and study areas. Teaching kick-starts in the new building after February half-term, we can't wait to see our students move in to their new home very soon.

Took a stroll around the new Construction and Engineering Centre at Barnfield College today. Colour me impressed, it's an amazing space with some special workshops and views. Looking forward to seeing students learning in the space next year. 2025 is going to be a big one 🏗️
