We have a brand-new opportunity for four industrialists to join the BBSRC research committee E for a three-year term. The committee is responsible for the award of fellowships and other personal awards, as well as providing key mentoring support to BBSRC fellows. Key responsibilities of the role: 💠 Attending an annual virtual meeting, to assess progress updates of BBSRC fellows currently funded. 💠 Assessing annual applications for the BBSRC Fellowship scheme, liaising with other committee members. 💠 Participating in an annual virtual meeting to shortlist fellowship applicants for interview, following the discussion board period. 💠 Attending three days of face-to-face interviews per year to assess and recommend shortlisted fellows for awards. 💠 Offering support and advice on an informal basis through the mentorship of one or two current BBSRC fellows. 💠 Attending a two-day BBSRC Fellows’ Conference each summer, attended by fellows and the committee. In applying to Committee E, applicants will: - Be from across the industrialist sector, including but not limited to, business, technology transfer office and policy professionals. - Have a passion for nurturing and mentoring Early Career Researchers that hold our BBSRC fellowship awards. - Be well respected within their field. - Have demonstrable interest in supporting career development. A major new partnership has been announced between Norwich Research Park (NRP) and real estate investment manager Vengrove to deliver NRP’s plans for long-term growth and expansion that will see the construction of new laboratory and office accommodation at the research park. NRP is one of five research and innovation campuses funded by BBSRC, and home to four prestigious bioscience research institutes. This new partnership will maximise their potential to support their tenants’ evolving needs and foster the conversion of research breakthroughs into successful ventures across key market sectors such as: 🟣 Agricultural biotechnology 🟣 Food biotechnology 🟣 Industrial biotechnology 🟣 Medical technology This long-term partnership will also advance NRP’s ambition to connect its world-class research facilities and expertise with industry, startups and high-growth companies.
