    We made the list. 📃 The shortlist for the Brand Film Awards! We're so proud to have bought VoucherCodes back to the TV for the first time in 12 years. After launching their bold new visual identity they needed an ad that demonstrated that pop of joy when you get a deal. That's how 'The Whisperer' was born. Because VoucherCodes test all their codes by hand, we decided to bring the humanity of the brand to the fore by giving it a trusted face: the lively, likeable, memorable character we developed in The Whisperer 💛 Set in the homes of three online shoppers to make the spot super relatable, our nimble and experienced team filmed the ad in a single day.     Well well well. Look what the fox dragged in 🦊 Last week, we welcomed Rachel Pearson to the den. She's our new Marketing Manager, so it's a bit odd for her to be writing this in the 3rd person, because Rachel...well...is me! Let's switch it up. Hello there. I'm Rachel. I've been in marketing and creative for many years, helping to build brands and tell their stories with a strategic approach. I'm so happy to be working with a mighty team whose creativity and ingenuity knows no bounds. After leading a local community for female-identifying people in digital for 7 years, it's very cool to be back working with a female-founded and led company again. Alongside all the marketing gubbins, I'm also a filmmaker, mountain hiker, Japanophile, mum and Star Wars-Till-I-Die fan.     This week, Be The Fox founders, Diana Ellis-Hill and Megan Price, were invited to speak at Allica Bank's HQ for International Women's Day about the unique challenges faced by female founders in advertising. As women who’ve built and led a company in a male-dominated space, they know the hurdles all too well. From a lack of representation and mentorship, to collaborators diverting to male opinions in the room, rather than female, the road to success for women is much steeper. But it’s not just us who suffer through lack of equity and representation in advertising. Clients chasing cutting-edge creative are missing out by not having diverse teams behind the lens. Assets feel samey and lack real perspective from lived experiences. The team at Be The Fox is determined to push boundaries and deliver innovative, high-quality work that leads the way. We're here to change the game, making sure our teams behind the lens reflect the diversity of the audience we’re creating for. This year we're going to be shining a light on this effort and reporting back to you so make sure to follow us to join this journey. We bank with Allica Bank, so It was heartening to be invited to speak to all of the staff who were really engaed in hearing the challenges we face and were genuinely movivated to help us. The conversation with their team reminded us that, while progress has been made, the fight for equality and representation is far from over. The best stats we have show that less than 1% of Ad Agencies are entirely female-founded. DE&I initiatives are being rolled back, meaning any advantages that could be put in place for underrepresented groups are disappearing. Only 2% of VC funding goes to female-founded companies. BUT female-founded companies deliver higher revenue per £ invested AND women drive most consumer purchases SO there is hope. We see it every day in the Be The Fox den. A huge thank you to Mahesh Vekaria, Diversity Equality and Belonging lead and Danielle Messam, our personal account manager at Allica Bank for inviting us. #IWD #FemaleFounders

  • It's the Big City Sleep Out in Brighton tonight to raise funds for The Clock Tower Sanctuary, Brighton. Our team will be there to raise awareness of youth homelessness in our home city of Brighton and the incredible work that TCTS does as the only drop-in day centre supporting people aged 16-25 experiencing homelessness. Thankfully the storm has blown over, but it's still going to be a cold one! Support all the people sleeping out on tonight and the amazing charity here (link below):

  • Yesterday we were lucky enough to have a visit from James Kirkham and Ellie Farrer from ICONIC to let us in on their extensive experience and research into how brands become culturally relevant. Their deep dive through sport, fashion and entertainment showed how brands can queue jump to the front of popular culture and stand out in the sea of sameness. With the industry evolving at pace, instead of interrupting what audiences are interested in, brands need to BECOME what audiences are interested in.
