Key Takeaways: - AI Integration in Education: How the education sector can leverage AI in colleges, with the support of tech experts. By demystifying AI, we can alleviate fears and reduce staff workload, creating a more efficient learning environment. - Child-to-Career Framework: Discussing what a truly collaborative framework between education and employers looks like, and how it can help support more neurodiverse students in securing meaningful employment. - Focus on Output: The LISP has sparked a crucial shift in the focus on learner outcomes. Employers are responding positively, and we're seeing great practice emerge that will help shape a better future for our students. • Introducing Moma Hilo: A Responsible Womenswear Brand Founded by Penelope Tucker  🌟 This exciting partnership is part of BCE’s Employer Residency Programme, providing valuable industry expertise to our students while supporting small businesses with free studio space. Through this residency, Penelope is giving students direct exposure to the fashion industry, sharing her insights and guiding them as they work on real-world industry briefs. This hands-on experience complements the T-Level in Fashion Design and Production, which builds essential business development skills and addresses the skills shortages in technical fashion production roles, as outlined in London’s Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP). 🤔 About Moma Hilo: Penelope’s brand, Moma Hilo, is built on her passion for craftsmanship, local manufacturing, and sustainability. With a career that spans prestigious names like Agent Provocateur, Pretty Green, and Albam, Penelope now channels her expertise into creating timeless, responsible fashion that adapts to ever-changing bodies. 👏 “I’ve always valued the importance of real-life experience in fashion design,” says Penelope. “I’m excited to share my craft with students, from pattern cutting and sewing to wax carving and tufting. It’s important to teach the next generation that manufacturing is not just about the final product, but about the journey and respect for the craft.” 🗣️ Penelope's commitment to fostering young talent resonates with BCE’s mission to support students from diverse and disadvantaged backgrounds. She serves as a powerful role model, encouraging students to see themselves as future leaders in the creative industries. What Students Gain: 👗 Direct interactions with an established entrepreneur 📝 Industry briefs and feedback on their portfolios 🎓 Masterclasses and work experience opportunities We're excited to be a part of this collaboration, which not only benefits students but also helps to shape the future of fashion. A company that does great work for all the right reasons. 💪 Lucy and the team truly understand the importance of investing in and nurturing talent. It’s no coincidence apprentices thrive under their guidance - they get it. We’re always looking for enriching industry engagement opportunities for our students. With this in mind, in the last few weeks of the academic year we invited Jupiter Hadley and Dann Sullivan to work with 11 students at The Studio Liverpool and Big Creative Education on a bootcamp all about games journalism! Over the course of four weeks, students learnt all about the world of writing about games, what tools they'll need, and had an article they've written published to Big Boss Battle under their own author pages. Jupiter said of the bootcamp: "It was such an amazing experience to see each of the students dive into new games, learn about article types, and draft up their own reviews, previews, and guides! They are all ready to start pitching to other publications and get their writing out there." Thank you to Jupiter and Dann for this fantastic opportunity, it allowed students to apply the wealth of skills they've acquired throughout their time at college, and the chance to explore a potential career path they may not have considered before. The skills, experience and confidence developed through this bootcamp will help students to thrive in the future. Congratulations to Abby Galloway, Benjamin Caslin, Emilia Biedrowska, Harry Morrison, Joshua Clements, Reggie Ball, Ron Al Saleh Shakiroff, Seamus Parkinson, and Szymon Mochort for your first published works!
