    Welcome chaiiwala to Birmingham Airport! The UK’s leading Indian street food café is now open to buy before you fly in our departure lounge. The menu showcases breakfast, lunch, dessert and all-day items with signature products such as Karak Chaii, Caramel Chaii, English-Ish Breakfast and Masala Chips. Richard Gill, Commercial Director of Birmingham Airport said: “We welcome both Chaiiwala and EG On The Move to Birmingham Airport as a partner. Chaiiwala’s concept will complement our existing catering offering with its innovative and unique menu that offers convenient Indian street food within the departure lounge. “Chaiiwala will appeal to all our customers with the menu being vegetarian and halal friendly and the option of a click and collect service, perfect for taking for an onward journey.” The new Chaiiwala outlet will create 20 jobs and will operate approximately 16 hours a day between 0400 and 2200 hours, catering for early-morning flyers and late-night travellers alike for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The store will feature the full Chaiiwala menu, known for its tasty and authentic dishes, along with additional treats and snack options.

    Our 6.8 MW solar PV project has been shortlisted for Decarbonisation Project of the Year in the EMA Energy Management 2024 Awards. The project highlights our unwavering commitment to achieving net zero carbon by 2033 and we look forward to the award ceremony on November 7th. Well done to everyone at BHX and beyond who were involved with the project.

    Aviation Minister visits Birmingham Airport as it switches on multi million pound solar investment. ✈️ The Government’s new Aviation Minister, Mike Kane has visited Birmingham Airport’s new 6.8-megawatt solar farm, made up of 12,000 panels, responsible for providing at least 20% of the airport’s electrical power requirement. 🌱 Birmingham Airport has committed to beat the Government’s deadline and become net zero by 2033. An ambitious target that the multi-million-pound sustainable investment will contribute to as it is less reliant on the Grid. He also found time to visit the Airport’s Air Traffic Control tower where he met Pena Mason, the first ever civilian Air Traffic Control Apprentice.     Jet2CityBreaks announces brand-new destination from Birmingham Airport – Bratislava Jet2CityBreaks has today announced the launch of a brand-new city break and Christmas market destination for Winter 24/25 from Birmingham Airport, with packages to Bratislava available to book now. The UK’s leading operator of European city breaks has responded to strong demand from UK holidaymakers looking to explore a new city or enjoy a festive getaway this winter, by expanding its network with the launch of Jet2CityBreak packages to Bratislava. The addition of this new destination gives customers and independent travel agents even more choice and flexibility for Winter 24/25, as well as the opportunity to enjoy a winter break to a new country in the Jet2 network – Slovakia. City break packages have gone on sale to Bratislava from Birmingham Airport from 4th November 2024 to 28th April 2025. Flights will operate to Vienna Airport, with twice weekly services (Monday and Friday) available from Birmingham Airport during this time. From there, customers will take a quick hop over the border where they will then have the bright lights of Bratislava to discover as they wish. On top of this, customers looking to enjoy a festive getaway in the countdown to Christmas can book a Christmas market trip to Bratislava from Birmingham Airport in November and December 2024.
