500 DEPLOYMENTS and counting! We’re excited to share that BiSN has reached a major milestone with our 500th and 501st commercial deployments of wel-lok™ technology last week. The cutting-edge, bismuth-based sealing solution has now been deployed together with our partner operators in every major oil and gas region and is making major strides in new industries like gas storage and carbon capture. An interesting fact for this ground-breaking technology is that it took over a decade to reach the first 100 deployments, but less than a year to hit the most recent 100. This shows growing acceptance of wel-lok™ as a faster, safer, and more resilient sealing solution for every stage of a well’s lifecycle. With recent new facilities in Australia, Brazil, Norway, and Aberdeen, we’re positioned more strongly to serve our clients and continue deploying this transformative technology for well completion, integrity, abandonment and new emerging sectors. We are thrilled to share that Dr. Andre Levchenko, BiSN’s leading expert in thermite materials, recently attended the 2024 NATAS (North American Thermal Analysis Society) conference. He presented a poster titled "Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry for the Design and Production of Thermite Heaters for Plug and Abandonment in Oil and Gas." This prestigious event brought together professionals from a range of industries to exchange ideas on the application of thermal analysis and calorimetry. One of the sessions, focused on energetics—a field closely aligned with the materials used by BiSN—was a perfect platform for Dr. Levchenko to showcase our latest innovations. His presentation highlighted how these analytical techniques play a critical role in improving product quality control and advancing our R&D efforts in bismuth-based alloys for downhole applications.
