Another event added to the BFA Learning Mixer Series! 📣📣📣
Event alert! Join us on 28th March at Arnolfini for a discussion on Matriarchal Practices in the built environment, a collaboration between Black Females In Architecture, University of the West of England and Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). 'Matriarchal & Female-led Practices' will focus on the influence of women in architecture and the lessons we can draw from specifically African matriarchal practices in design. With presentations from BFA members about their ongoing MA Research, Claire Miller about her work in practice, Ann de Graft-Johnson’s reflections on MATRIX and more female practitioners, the event will explore how these practices foster more equitable, culturally inclusive, and community-driven environments. This is the second event in the ‘BFA Learning Mixers’ series, developed in collaboration with the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and funded by the 2023 RIBA Local Initiative Fund (LIF). https://lnkd.in/e-DCEmAy

Black Females In Architecture reposted this
Check out Carnelian Consultancy's second spotlight for #blackhistorymonth . Today we are celebrating Black Females In Architecture 🙌🏽
#BlackHistoryMonth Today's spotlight is black history in the making. Shout out to Black Females In Architecture an amazing network that changed the 'glass ceiling' to 'sky is the limit', for me. I have watched these ladies grow the network and take BFA internationally and become MBE's! Offering talks, mentorship programmes, project and consulting services and jobs boards; connecting that 1% with representation and opportunities. This was one of the first networks I joined and it showed me how important networks are to connect and fuel yourself in an industry that can be draining and quite lonely as a Black Female. A massive congratulations on their new partnership with London School of Architecture, an epic milestone. See a link to their celebratory event on 17th Oct 24 https://lnkd.in/eBb2W3hY #CarnelianConsultancyBHM #LondonSchoolOfArchitecture #BlackFemArch #BHM24 #BHMinConstruction #BlackHistoryMonth
