About us

PREACH Inclusion® (Promoting Race, Ethnicity and Cultural Heritage) is the new name for BAME in Property. PREACH Inclusion® embodies the different ways we identify ourselves, recognising that we all have multiple layers to our identity. We seek to make the built environment sector a more diverse, inclusive and equitable place through educational campaigns, consultancy, workshops and a variety of memberships. We are not afraid to be disruptive, while acknowledging that many people find it challenging to discuss race and ethnicity. This is why we take a sensitive and tailored approach with every company we work with. We are not just your consultant; we are a critical friend, supporting you on your equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) journey. Our approach is twofold, placing importance on intersectional EDI approaches to result in the best and most innovative outputs. Through tailored services, creative analogies and strategic advice, we’re helping companies PREACH Inclusion® as a key part of their overall company strategy – not just an afterthought. • ✨ An evening with Hashi Mohamed ✨ A huge thank you to everyone who joined us last night for our live interview with renowned speaker, author and barrister, Hashi Mohamed, in conversation with PREACH Inclusion® (formerly BAME in Property) founder, Priya Aggarwal-Shah. The evening was filled with thought-provoking insights as Hashi shared his powerful story - from refugee to barrister - offering a candid and relatable discussion on social mobility, inclusion, the housing crisis, and much more. Hashi’s journey is a testament to resilience and breaking barriers, while navigating numerous challenges. He spoke passionately about the importance of the first four years in a child's life, the power of language, and the importance of representation in leadership. The event also included a book signing of Hashi's acclaimed debut 𝘗𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘓𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘜𝘴, along with a chance to network and connect with industry professionals. We are honoured to have had the opportunity to partner with Hashi on this event. All proceeds from the event, over £750, will be donated to Da'aro Youth Project, an organisation supporting refugees and asylum seekers from the Horn of Africa. Thank you Sarah Robson and Zeena Elhassan, for sharing more about the work they do and to everyone for their generous donations. A special thank you to our corporate partner, Montagu Evans, for hosting us in your stunning office. Photo credits: Raj Gedhu.

  • 🗣️ In conversation with... 🗣️ This month, we caught up with Kitesh Patel MBA,, Director of Risk at Places for People (PfP), one of PREACH Inclusion’s corporate partners. Kitesh’s journey is rooted in his background as a British Hindu growing up in Leicester during the 1980s. As the eldest child in a family of immigrants from India, he grew up in a household where his mum navigated the complexities of settling into a new country while raising a family. This shaped Kitesh’s own understanding of identity and belonging. During our conversation, we reflected on his upbringing, career trajectory and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I). From his early experiences in Leicester to his current role in one of the UK’s largest social enterprises, Kitesh’s story offers valuable lessons on navigating personal identity, professional challenges, and making a lasting impact in both the workplace and society. So, grab a cuppa and dive into his inspiring story: https://lnkd.in/e_JarkjP Kasia Klunduk Rachael Atherton Nicole Egglestone

  • As we move through March, several religious festivals and observances are taking place or have recently started, including Ramadan (Muslim observance), Lent (Christian festival), Holi (Hindu festival), and Hola Mohalla (Sikh festival). Later this month, we can also expect Eid al-Fitr (Muslim festival), marking the end of Ramadan. We welcome you to have a read of our Faith and Religion guidebook, produced in partnership with London Property Alliance (CPA & WPA), which is full of guidance on how to make the workplace more inclusive for those who follow and/or practice a religion or faith. It also includes suggestions on how buildings and the public realm can be designed to better accommodate people of different faiths. This guidebook has been written with support from Priya Aggarwal-Shah (Founder and Director, PREACH Inclusion®); informed by a roundtable attended by CPA and WPA members and stakeholders of different faiths; with contributions and case studies from the wider sector. Full guidebook below and head over to the Resources page on our website for more useful guidebooks and articles (linked in the first comment).
