As part of our With You(th) In Mind Project last year, we invited several of our dedicated therapists to demystify therapy and address important topics around young people and mental health. In this video, Nicole Julien-Connage, one of our BMMUK therapists, breaks down two common types of therapy and gives real insight into what they involve. Whether you're curious about therapy or considering it for the first time, this video will help you understand what to expect. Watch the full video on our YouTube channel and join us in breaking down the stigma around mental health. 🖤 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eh3cVzQv #MentalHealthAwareness #WithYouthInMind #BlackMindsMatterUK #TherapyDemystified #YoungMindsMatter

This Black History Month, we're launching Untold Stories, a powerful project that honours the mental health experiences of our older Black community. Too often, these stories remain untold, and the struggles around mental health and identity are left unheard. Inspired by this year's Black History Month theme of 'Reclaiming Narratives' we're holding space for the voices of our elders, inviting them to share their mental health journeys and reflect on how culture, age, and environment shaped their experiences. Help us amplify these stories by sharing or submitting a story from a family member or friend. 🖤 Learn more about how you can get involved here: https://lnkd.in/eFjkUB2V #UntoldStories #BlackHistoryMonth #MentalHealthAdvocacy #BlackMindsMatterUK #ReclaimingNarratives #CommunityCare

Sickle Cell Awareness Month reminds us that chronic illnesses, like sickle cell disease, affect more than just physical health—they impact mental well-being too. 🖤 People living with chronic illness often face heightened risks of depression and anxiety due to ongoing pain, hospital visits, and the emotional strain of managing a long-term illness. Recognizing these challenges is the first step toward better mental health care for this community. This Sickle Cell Awareness month, we're standing with those who live with chronic illness and advocating for increased mental health support. Let's continue the conversation and raise awareness. 💬 #SickleCellAwarenessDay #MentalHealthAdvocacy #BlackMindsMatterUK #ChronicIllnessSupport #SickleCellSociety #BMMUK

During #SickleCellAwarenessWeek, we're proud to collaborate with Sickle Cell Society to explore how therapy can support sickle cell patients in managing both physical and emotional challenges. In this video, licensed psychotherapist Ann-Marie delves into how therapy helps build resilience and coping skills, particularly for patients dealing with the trauma of frequent hospitalizations and medical procedures. Mental health support is crucial in helping individuals with sickle cell navigate their daily lives. 🖤🖤 Watch the video 📽️ to learn more about how therapy empowers those who live with sickle cell to thrive despite the challenges they face. #SickleCellAwarenessWeek #MentalHealthSupport #ChronicIllnessCare #BlackMindsMatterUK #TherapyTools #SickleCellSociety #blackmindsmatteruk #bmmuk
