This year will see the delivery of Phase 3 which includes 620 new homes made up of social rent, shared ownership, private for rent, extra-care, and shared equity.   This vast mixed-use phase will also provide over 8,000m2 of commercial space and a 2,000m2 NHS GP practice. • We are looking back on the event we held with Colas Ltd, Colas Rail UK and Equans UK & Ireland to champion gender balance, celebrate progress and drive meaningful change. Our collaborative International Women’s Day event featured an inspirational keynote address from Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson, who shared powerful insights on resilience, leadership, and accelerating gender equality - particularly in male-dominated fields. The day was filled with powerful discussions, thought-provoking panels and stories from women shaping the future of our industry. Here are a few highlights from the day! #AccelerateAction #IWD2025 #InspireInclusion #DiversityAndInclusion

  • Congratulations to Donna Griffiths who has been appointed as the new South Wales Chair for Women in Property (WiP)!   Donna took up this role on 1st March and will hold the position for a year. Our Business Development Manager and Head of Social Value for the region at Bouygues UK, Donna has been a member of WiP for five years and has worked in the construction industry for nearly 25.   Of her appointment, Donna said: “I am honoured to be appointed Branch Chair to help guide our regional team. Incredible progress is being made at St John's CE Academy! We have been appointed to lead this build for the Department for Education in Grove, Oxfordshire which will be the first all-through school (Nursery to Year 11) in the local area, teaching around 600 pupils. Bouygues UK is committed to both the future of education and our planet which is why on this project we are incorporating low-carbon materials like a cross-laminated timber frame and using off-site manufacturing to reduce our impact on the environment. The use of timber will also enhance the student experience once the school is complete. The two-storey building will feature a green roof with photovoltaic panels. The exterior will combine brickwork, timber panelling, and aluminium-framed entrances. We can't wait to see the project continue to progress throughout 2025! #BuildingForLife #TimberConstruction

Check out how it's looking inside Oriel! JDC Scaffolding recently completed scaffolding for us within the new internal atrium to give access for wall and roof finishes. The final result is staggeringly impressive. The specific shape of the atrium, differing floor levels, loading criteria, access required for materials, plant and pedestrian movement meant this installation was far from simple. We look forward to progressing with the internal works now this scaffolding is in place. Oriel, a new eye care, research and education centre in Camden, is a joint initiative between Moorfields Eye Hospital, London NHS Foundation Trust, the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology and Moorfields Eye Charity that will see services move from Islington to a brand-new integrated centre. • Today, we are hosting our annual International Women's Day 2025 event at The ICC Birmingham in collaboration with Colas Rail UK, Colas Ltd, and Equans UK & Ireland. This year’s theme, #AccelerateAction, is at the heart of our discussions on breaking barriers, leading with resilience, and fostering a truly inclusive workplace. So far, we have already heard from our keynote speaker, Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson, who shared inspiring insights on accelerating gender equality, particularly in male-dominated industries, alongside personal reflections on leadership and resilience. Delegates have engaged in thought-provoking conversations, challenging misconceptions around leadership and exploring ways to support women in achieving their goals with confidence. This afternoon, we look forward to more discussions on mentorship and a fireside chat on how women can shape the future of work. Take a look at some of the highlights from today so far! #IWD2025 #Inclusion #Leadership

We love hearing from our young talent about their experiences working with us! In celebration of #NationalCareersWeek, we caught up with Asad A. and Alfonzo Mancera, two interns working at the Ambulatory Diagnostics Centre we are delivering for West Middlesex Hospital. They shared how the hands-on experience they are gaining on the project is helping to shape their career pathways, equipping them with valuable skills and opening doors to new opportunities. At Bouygues UK, we believe that offering diverse career pathways is essential to inspiring the next generation and attracting new talent into the industry. That’s why, no matter which route you take to join our business, we’ll provide the support, resources, and opportunities you need to build a successful career. • We have achieved full marks in our latest Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) assessment at Canolfan Pentre Awel for the third consecutive time! Our project for Carmarthenshire County Council is nearing completion and throughout the two years we have been on site, our project team has worked tirelessly to put our people, our planet and our community in and around Llanelli at the heart of the development. The CCS team commended this in the report, detailing that "the site team have built on the excellent standards that were set out from the start of the project and have not let these slip." Having recently been pronounced a net zero construction site, carbon reduction has been a key priority. The project reached this pivotal milestone by implementing energy, waste, and resource-saving initiatives, including adopting hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) waste cooking oil as a fuel, as well as sourcing recycled and green materials for the build. While Canolfan Pentre Awel represents a milestone in sustainable construction, its impact on people and communities is equally important. As part of the project’s commitment to delivering significant social value and engaging with local educational institutions, our team established a school ambassador scheme that enables children from the local community to visit the site, share their ideas, and gain first-hand experience of the construction process. Check out how the project is looking in the Welsh sunshine! #BuildingForLife

  • We are thrilled to welcome our first official cohort of T Level students from Chichester College and Brighton MET onto their industrial placements at Bouygues UK!   Marking the result of meticulous planning with our programme partner, Class Of Your Own, the T Level Design, Surveying & Planning students had their industry placement induction at our head office in London. The students spent three days with us, gaining valuable insights into the company. During their final day with us, the new starters also visited our student accommodation scheme at Hallsville Quarter for some direct construction experience.   Having now had a taste of both life on site and in the office, our first cohort of T Level students will be ready to dive into their 45-day work placements with us this June.   We are proud to champion T Levels. By combining classroom learning with real-world industry experience, T Level programmes are helping to develop the next generation of talent in construction; a generation that will drive the industry forward and contribute fundamentally to its success. #TLevels #STEMCareers #BuildingForLife
